Bachmann wows taxpayer group

Des Moines —

Tea Party favorite and Iowa native Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota spoke at an Iowans for Tax Relief event on Jan. 21.

Iowans for Tax Relief is an organization that works to support candidates who believe in lower taxes and a more conservative government. In the last election cycle, its political action committee spent approximately $500,000 promoting candidates who share the organization's principles.

Bachmann, originally from Waterloo, was the first to file a repeal of the Affordable Care Act in Congress. (Iowa's own Steve King also filed similar situation around the same time.) Elected in 2006, she is the first female representative Minnesota has sent to Congress. Bachmann is the mother of five and her family has hosted 23 foster children over the years.

The Congresswoman opened her speech by discussing how nice Iowans are. Some have speculated she is considering a run for the presidency in 2012, which she further fueled by praising the work ethic and intelligence of Iowans.

Man, that is exactly what we need. The lines need to be crystal clear to defeat the boy marxist, and our team needs to be able to deliver the uppercuts and right crosses across Obama’s glass jaw.

I think Pence is gonna be the first in officially. He said his decision will be by the end of this month.

Just floating this out there, if MB and Sarah Palin both declare, will the left choke up enough bile, vitriol, hatred, and toxins to turn off enough of the women's vote that we'll be able to elect anyone?

It will be interesting to see if she can become a top tier candidate quickly, hopfully knocking out a few RINO’s.

Glad to see she is already working the Iowa crowd. Hoepfully she can draw in Huck’s voters, especially once he makes it official that he’s sitting this one out.

I feel real bad for her and her family if she does decide to run. There is a lot of hate in this country for conservative women who think the D.C. good old boys will allow them to be elected president.

She’s been getting hammered since she stepped foot into office. She knows what to expect. And the notion that it is the “good old boys” is odd. Some of the worst offenders are good old girls. Like Kay Baily Hutchison, Dana Perino, Peggy Noonan, the Maine RINO twins, Karen Hughes, and Lindsey Graham

A Bachmann/Steve King ticket would be a great conservative one.

The Hawkeye FReepers would love that!

Now that there’s funny, I don’t care who you are.

DeMint, Pence, Hunter, Bachmann , Paul Ryan.

I like Sarah a lot, but listening to her gives me the jitters; akin to having had six cups of coffee and two cans of Red Bull.

“DeMint, Pence, Hunter, Bachmann , Paul Ryan.”

Great list! Count me in.
I think Michele’s just that passionate about her patriotism.
She’ll settle down to business, once she’s in office.

Don't worry about Rep. Michele Bachmann - did you know that she got elected in the state of Minnesota, even though Democrats nationwide sent millions to her opponent in an unsuccessful attempt to defeat her.

Chris Matthews DESPISES Rep. Michele Bachmann, she is VERY used to negative feedback, LOL, and it doesn't perturb her one little bit, LOL

She is imperturbable to Mr. Bo-Tingles, and I'd like to see the MSM even attempt to go after any of her 23 foster children, that'll be the day, LOL
