Alien life deemed impossible by analysis of 500 planets
The Daily Telegraph ^ | January 23, 2011 | Heidi Blake

Posted on 01/23/2011 9:38:58 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Howard Smith, a senior astrophysicist at Harvard, made the claim that we are alone in the universe after an analysis of the 500 planets discovered so far showed all were hostile to life.

Dr Smith said the extreme conditions found so far on planets discovered outside out Solar System are likely to be the norm, and that the hospitable conditions on Earth could be unique.

“We have found that most other planets and solar systems are wildly different from our own. They are very hostile to life as we know it,” he said.

He pointed to stars such as HD10180, which sparked great excitement when it was found to be orbited by a planet of similar size and appearance to Earth.

But the similarities turned out to be superficial. The planet lies less than two million miles from its sun, meaning it is roasting hot, stripped of its atmosphere and blasted by radiation.

Many of the other planets have highly elliptical orbits which cause huge variations in temperature which prevent water remaining liquid, thus making it impossible for life to develop.

A separate team of scientists recently declared the chance of aliens existing on a newly discovered Earth-like planet “100 per cent”.

Professor Steven Vogt , of the Carnegie institution in Washington, said he had “no doubt” extraterrestrial life would be found on a small, rocky planet found orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581 last September.

If that’s the case, then it’s entirely possible that none of them would have planets, let alone habitable ones. Especially if we are talking upwards of 100 solar masses.

Don't stars with multiple solar masses of that magnitude end up as neutron stars, or even black holes?

I was educated with the notion that if a star exceeds x solar masses, it ends up as a neutron star, and if it exceeds y solar masses (y > x) it ends up as a black hole. I've forgotten the values of x and y. And if the star weighs < x solar masses, it ends up as a white dwarf? I'm not sure about that one, my memory is a little cloudy.

It's been a while since I studied astronomy at Georgia Tech. I took at least one class taught by David Finklestein, though, so I've had some good instructors...

Yep, anything over around 20 masses is believed to form a black hole. Anything over about 8 or so will likely form a neutron star.

Deneb which is the largest and brightest first magnitude star is only 20 solar masses. The only other really massive one which you’ve probably heard of is Alnilam (the central star in Orion’s belt) which is 40 solar masses.

Betelgeuse is 18, Rigel is 17. Antares is 15 solar masses.

Chinese National Television Xinhua news is now reporting an impending extraterrestrial disclosure by the Obama administration.

The unprecedented national China TV news bulletin that U.S. President Barack Obama may be preparing to disclose U.S. relations with specific extraterrestrial races was broadcast on the official channel Xinhua on January 4, 2011 on the eve of China President Hu Jintao’s state visit to the United States

Yes. There is nothing “settled” about this or about “global warming.” The notion that one side declares 100 percent belief in finding life elsewhere is as stupid as the headline writer’s use of the word “impossible.”

But I do find it fascinating that scientists who announce that “global warming” is settled science say the purpose for (our now “green”) NASA is to find life (100% belief in it’s existence despite no evidence beyond a notion of statistics) beyond Earth.

Researchers are using “settled science” as a club to remove opposing ideas from debate while advancing their agenda and keeping the money stream of funding for those spearheading that agenda flowing. Their handmaidens in the MSM are, in large part, eager to promote this alarmist position, as it will allow governments to take control and restrict our freedoms.

Not a doubt in my mind that Obama would dearly love to announce to the public a complete disclosure of U.S. involvement with UFO's. This would distract attention away from his destruction of the country and give him the opportunity to inject himself into this new drama as the planet's chief ambassador to the universe.

Unfortunately, the Chinese report "seems" to be based on reporting by AllNewsWeb.com and its owner Michael Cohen. As UFO sources go, that is most unreliable one of note...so I wouldn't put too much stock in this report.

I’ve often wondered about the validity of this claim when I first heard about it . . . while working at the Grand Canyon, IIRC.

It seems things have progressed or at least been more disclosed . . . if at all authentic, true, accurate.

It’s a fascinating story anyway.

EXPLORATIONS IN GRAND CANYON

Mysteries of Immense Rich Cavern being brought to light

Jordan is enthused
Remarkable finds indicate ancient people migrated from Orient

The latest news of the progress of the explorations of what is now regarded by scientists as not only the oldest archaeological discovery in the United States, but one of the most valuable in the world, which was mentioned some time ago in the Gazette, was brought to the city yesterday by G.E. Kinkaid, the explorer who found the great underground citadel of the Grand Canyon during a trip from Green River, Wyoming, down the Colorado, in a wooden boat, to Yuma, several months ago.

According to the story related to the Gazette by Mr. Kinkaid, the archaeologists of the Smithsonian Institute, which is financing the expeditions, have made discoveries which almost conclusively prove that the race which inhabited this mysterious cavern, hewn in solid rock by human hands, was of oriental origin, possibly from Egypt, tracing back to Ramses. If their theories are borne out by the translation of the tablets engraved with hieroglyphics, the mystery of the prehistoric peoples of North America, their ancient arts, who they were and whence they came, will be solved. Egypt and the Nile, and Arizona and the Colorado will be linked by a historical chain running back to ages which staggers the wildest fancy of the fictionist.

A Thorough Examination

Under the direction of Prof. S. A. Jordan, the Smithsonian Institute is now prosecuting the most thorough explorations, which will be continued until the last link in the chain is forged. Nearly a mile underground, about 1480 feet below the surface, the long main passage has been delved into, to find another mammoth chamber from which radiates scores of passageways, like the spokes of a wheel.

Several hundred rooms have been discovered, reached by passageways running from the main passage, one of them having been explored for 854 feet and another 634 feet. The recent finds include articles which have never been known as native to this country, and doubtless they had their origin in the orient. War weapons, copper instruments, sharp-edged and hard as steel, indicate the high state of civilization reached by these strange people. So interested have the scientists become that preparations are being made to equip the camp for extensive studies, and the force will be increased to thirty or forty persons.

Mr. Kinkaid’s Report

Mr. Kinkaid was the first white child born in Idaho and has been an explorer and hunter all his life, thirty years having been in the service of the Smithsonian Institute. Even briefly recounted, his history sounds fabulous, almost grotesque.

“First, I would impress that the cavern is nearly inaccessible. The entrance is 1,486 feet down the sheer canyon wall. It is located on government land and no visitor will be allowed there under penalty of trespass. The scientists wish to work unmolested, without fear of archaeological discoveries being disturbed by curio or relic hunters. A trip there would be fruitless, and the visitor would be sent on his way. The story of how I found the cavern has been related, but in a paragraph: I was journeying down the Colorado river in a boat, alone, looking for mineral. Some forty-two miles up the river from the El Tovar Crystal canyon, I saw on the east wall, stains in the sedimentary formation about 2,000 feet above the river bed. There was no trail to this point, but I finally reached it with great difficulty.
Above a shelf which hid it from view from the river, was the mouth of the cave. There are steps leading from this entrance some thirty yards to what was, at the time the cavern was inhabited, the level of the river. When I saw the chisel marks on the wall inside the entrance, I became interested, securing my gun and went in. During that trip I went back several hundred feet along the main passage till I came to the crypt in which I discovered the mummies. One of these I stood up and photographed by flashlight. I gathered a number of relics, which I carried down the Colorado to Yuma, from whence I shipped them to Washington with details of the discovery. Following this, the explorations were undertaken.

The Passages

“The main passageway is about 12 feet wide, narrowing to nine feet toward the farther end. About 57 feet from the entrance, the first side-passages branch off to the right and left, along which, on both sides, are a number of rooms about the size of ordinary living rooms of today, though some are 30 by 40 feet square. These are entered by oval-shaped doors and are ventilated by round air spaces through the walls into the passages. The walls are about three feet six inches in thickness.

The passages are chiselled or hewn as straight as could be laid out by an engineer. The ceilings of many of the rooms converge to a center. The side-passages near the entrance run at a sharp angle from the main hall, but toward the rear they gradually reach a right angle in direction.

The Shrine

“Over a hundred feet from the entrance is the cross-hall, several hundred feet long, in which are found the idol, or image, of the people’s god, sitting cross-legged, with a lotus flower or lily in each hand. The cast of the face is oriental, and the carving this cavern. The idol almost resembles Buddha, though the scientists are not certain as to what religious worship it represents. Taking into consideration everything found thus far, it is possible that this worship most resembles the ancient people of Tibet.

Surrounding this idol are smaller images, some very beautiful in form; others crooked-necked and distorted shapes, symbolical, probably, of good and evil. There are two large cactus with protruding arms, one on each side of the dais on which the god squats. All this is carved out of hard rock resembling marble. In the opposite corner of this cross-hall were found tools of all descriptions, made of copper. These people undoubtedly knew the lost art of hardening this metal, which has been sought by chemicals for centuries without result. On a bench running around the workroom was some charcoal and other material probably used in the process. There is also slag and stuff similar to matte, showing that these ancients smelted ores, but so far no trace of where or how this was done has been discovered, nor the origin of the ore.

“Among the other finds are vases or urns and cups of copper and gold, made very artistic in design. The pottery work includes enamelled ware and glazed vessels. Another passageway leads to granaries such as are found in the oriental temples. They contain seeds of various kinds. One very large storehouse has not yet been entered, as it is twelve feet high and can be reached only from above. Two copper hooks extend on the edge, which indicates that some sort of ladder was attached. These granaries are rounded, as the materials of which they are constructed, I think, is a very hard cement. A gray metal is also found in this cavern, which puzzles the scientists, for its identity has not been established. It resembles platinum. Strewn promiscuously over the floor everywhere are what people call “cats eyes”, a yellow stone of no great value. Each one is engraved with the head of the Malay type.

The Hieroglyphics

“On all the urns, or walls over doorways, and tablets of stone which were found by the image are the mysterious hieroglyphics, the key to which the Smithsonian Institute hopes yet to discover. The engraving on the tables probably has something to do with the religion of the people. Similar hieroglyphics have been found in southern Arizona. Among the pictorial writings, only two animals are found. One is of prehistoric type.

The Crypt

“The tomb or crypt in which the mummies were found is one of the largest of the chambers, the walls slanting back at an angle of about 35 degrees. On these are tiers of mummies, each one occupying a separate hewn shelf. At the head of each is a small bench, on which is found copper cups and pieces of broken swords. Some of the mummies are covered with clay, and all are wrapped in a bark fabric.

The urns or cups on the lower tiers are crude, while as the higher shelves are reached, the urns are finer in design, showing a later stage of civilization. It is worthy of note that all the mummies examined so far have proved to be male, no children or females being buried here. This leads to the belief that this exterior section was the warriors’ barracks.

“Among the discoveries no bones of animals have been found, no skins, no clothing, no bedding. Many of the rooms are bare but for water vessels. One room, about 40 by 700 feet, was probably the main dining hall, for cooking utensils are found here. What these people lived on is a problem, though it is presumed that they came south in the winter and farmed in the valleys, going back north in the summer.

Upwards of 50,000 people could have lived in the caverns comfortably. One theory is that the present Indian tribes found in Arizona are descendants of the serfs or slaves of the people which inhabited the cave. Undoubtedly a good many thousands of years before the Christian era, a people lived here which reached a high stage of civilization. The chronology of human history is full of gaps. Professor Jordan is much enthused over the discoveries and believes that the find will prove of incalculable value in archaeological work.

“One thing I have not spoken of, may be of interest. There is one chamber of the passageway to which is not ventilated, and when we approached it a deadly, snaky smell struck us. Our light would not penetrate the gloom, and until stronger ones are available we will not know what the chamber contains. Some say snakes, but other boo-hoo this idea and think it may contain a deadly gas or chemicals used by the ancients. No sounds are heard, but it smells snaky just the same. The whole underground installation gives one of shaky nerves the creeps. The gloom is like a weight on one’s shoulders, and our flashlights and candles only make the darkness blacker. Imagination can revel in conjectures and ungodly daydreams back through the ages that have elapsed till the mind reels dizzily in space.”

. . .

Though the Smithsonian involvement is therefore either proof of a cover-up (as some have claimed) or they are telling the truth, this does not mean that the entire story is a hoax, or that the newspaper fabricated the story. “Kinkaid” may have existed, and may have inflated his credentials. Alternatively, he may have made the entire thing up. It may be a hoax, but by whom?

The newspaper reported rather factually about it. It may have been their hoax, in an effort to sell more papers, but if so, you would expect to hear more about it, including announcements like “more to come in the following edition”, whetting the public’s appetite.

.

The anonymous author may have fabricated the story, as he perhaps could not fill the entire newspaper. Perhaps… Which leaves Kinkaid. In his first account, we read how he stated that he has made archaeological discoveries, but these seem to have occurred all on his own. Furthermore, it is clear that he has made numerous photographs. We need to stress that the discovery of the underground network occurred before the first story was written. In fact, it appears that the discovery was made roughly four to six months prior the article. But in the second story, we learn Kinkaid apparently did not travel alone, but was helped by a professor from the Smithsonian.

Also, it seems he did not make any photograph of his discovery. Though he claims that the access was very difficult, you would expect Kinkaid to have made some photographs of the general area.
In the Phoenix (Arizona) Gazette article of April 5, 1909 it is stated that Kinkaid “brought the story” of the “underground citadel” “to the city” (Phoenix and the Gazette) “yesterday” (April 4, 1909) after having “discovered” the site “several months ago”.

It is clear that as far as the newspaper was involved, they were reporting on recent information. But why Kinkaid had not included his discovery in his original account, back in March, is more enigmatic. Even though the newspaper may have wanted to wait to run it, it is clear that the delay is entirely Kinkaid’s.
. . .

. . .

So, what about the cave? It is a fact that the Canyon has many holes and caves, most of which are discovered by hikers. A clear favourite for an Egyptian connection is the area around Ninety-four Mile Creek and Trinity Creek has sites with names like Isis Temple, Tower of Set, Tower of Ra, Horus Temple, Osiris Temple, etc. In the Haunted Canyon area are such names as the Cheops Pyramid, the Buddha Cloister, Buddha Temple, Manu Temple and Shiva Temple.

.

One book, Ancient Secret of The Flower of Life (Vol. II, page 302), claims that two backpackers, on their way to Isis Temple, found a pyramid, made from the native rock. Once at Isis Temple, they claimed to have seen several cave entrances. They stated that the cave entrances were at a height of 800 feet, and the two climbed up, hoping to get into what looked like the most promising cave. But instead they found it had been sealed off with rocks. They felt the entrance was man made and that there was a 6 foot circular pattern hewn into the ceiling.

.

It is unknown whether this is an actual discovery, or more “talk”. Irrelevant, Isis Temple is more than 40 miles from the location given in the newspaper article. Furthermore, it is but one of numerous buttes in the Grand Canyon named after ancient Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Chinese and Nordic gods and goddesses. The origin of the rather esoteric naming is nearly as mysterious as the canyon itself, and has given rise to more than a little speculation as to what early explorers may have found there. But it may also be a perfect memory of its time, when there was a major fascination with all things Egyptian-Indian.

. . .

So, where does this leave us? Perhaps the answer is somewhere in the middle of this controversy. With so many caves, some must contain something. Kinkaid never said it was Egyptian – he just made comparisons. It could simply have been native…
The first culture to occupy the valley were the Anasazi, who entered the region around 500 AD, hunting small game as well as raising corn and squash for their livelihood. By 1000 AD, their culture had advanced to the point where they had begun to develop their own distinctive pottery style, advanced agricultural methods, and a unique form of dwelling known as the “pueblo”.

. . .

Though this story may or may not be reality, examples such as Mummy Cave have since proven that Kinkaid’s story may not be as important as many believe it is. Even if Kinkaid and Jordan were real people, the sensationalist flavourings of the report are all due to the anonymous author. And even if he was reporting truthfully, within the current climate, we can imagine why people could have easily mistaken an ancient culture with a local Indian culture. It is merely because the Indians were believed to have no level of sophistication whatsoever that almost de facto, the site had to be “Old World”… In the 21st century, we know better.

CHILLING - New Air Force commercial - what does it mean?, page 1

The following video strikes me as very odd for a couple reasons, not the least of which is that this video does not seem to follow with the ones preceding it in this very same real / CGI style they have been doing since around 2006.

You will notice this is a commercial for Air Force Medevac division but watch for yourself as to what this video contains and ask yourself a couple questions. Why does it depict what appears to be an American city completely in ruins with people on a bridge that is collapsing which looks eerily similar to scenes of the film 2012? The people on the bridge are hurt and airlifted out right before the bridge collapses which would indicate a sudden and catastrophic event such as a nuclear strike, asteroid impact or perhaps a giant 10.0 earthquake. Why is this imagery used in such a way?

Secondly, the end theme as always is “It’s not science fiction, it’s what we do every day”. Ok, well why when the plane fly’s away at the end are we treated to a scene straight out of transformers and CGI, I have never seen an Air Force plane capable of such transformation, so how is it NOT science fiction?

They’re making a game out of it! (let’s have some fun! courtesy of YT user: NoLinkNews)

http://goo.gl/9UTN9

Intel from YT user:

Just went to dinner with my husbands friend that has a large trucking business and he was informing me that he has a long standing customer that makes uniforms for NY police and the such, and he just put a bid in for a uniform that is like no other, and when he asked for what city this was for he was told this uniform was for police that would only answer for the president of the united states. This is absolutely totally solid info. (CAN ANYONE ELSE CONFIRM THIS?!)

Also, from a user that wishes to remain anonymous:

“By the way, speaking of the way the Illuminati drops hints, I think you noted that the closing date for that “Meals” RFI was Jan 26. I might be wrong and please forgive me if I am, but I *think* you mentioned the date in that context. In the RFI it says “Questions must be submitted in writing to Julieann L. Phillips at

julieann.phillips@dhs.gov

not later than 2:00PM, 26 January 2011 to be answered. Responses to questions will be provided not later than 2:00PM, 03 February 2011. Request for Information closing date is 03 February 2011.”

However, Jan 26 is very, very significant. That happens to be the 311th anniversary of the Great Cascadia Earthquake of Jan 26, 1700. visit:

http://goo.gl/yAhxk

Now, ain’t it an odd coincidence that on the very day that’s the anniversay of the biggest quake to hit Nth America’s PNW in centuries, we have a “closing date for questions” in respect of planning for a disaster in the region that had the second-biggest quakes?

Also, I don’t need to tell you the importance of numbers to our dear sweet Illuminati foes. 311. Three and eleven. We know how crucial eleven is, we know the power of three (after all, Christianity is built around the trinity concept), and well — 3 x 11 = 33.

I’m certain you are aware of how significant *that* number is.

Another oddity, but one which may be meaningless but I’ll throw it out there as it just came to me, is that 1/26/11 can be computed down to: 1+2+6 / 11. So, that gives us: 9/11. (Elevens are inviolate and don’t get reduced down.) Also, while some might argue that we didn’t include the “20” and write “2011”, the point is that generally people don’t do it that way. We know what century we’re in, so it’s only the year, month and day numbers that “matter”.

Is this odd “9/11” example just a weird coincidence? And the “311” and its derivatives? Maybe. But I do not believe in coincidences. Not in matters of this nature, at least.

Also by the way, if you google “earthquake drill 1/26/2011” you’ll find what regions are going to have quake drills on that day, including the biggest quake drill in Canadian history (in BC) and various places in the US as well.”

More math done by YT user marcomix82:

Between 09/11/01 and 01/26/11 = 3424 days

or 9 years and 137 days

or 9/11

Interesting article by Stan Friedman invited by the Saudi's to talk about UFOs:

When I first heard of the comments from the Vatican Observatory Director,Astronomer (Reverend) Jose Gabriel Funes) in May 2008 and then Pope Benedict XVI about God could have made our brethen in space as well as us, I was quite surprised. I had years ago heard pro UFO comments from Father Balducci who worked at the Vatican. But the Pope? My first thought was what did he know that we didn’t? He doesn’t need to answer any questions he doesn’t want to answer. Was he trying to prepare the world’s 1.13 billion Catholics for an upcoming announcement of the reality of alien visitation?

Islam’s leaders and other groups already believe there is intelligent life out there. This was quite a contrast with the views of fundamentalist preachers Pat Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell, who have loudly proclaimed that Earthlings are the only intelligent life in the Universe and that the UFO stuff is a reflection of demonic activity. (Surely the Lord can do better than Earthlings?)

I was similarly surprised to be invited to be a participant in the fifth annual Global Competitiveness Forum to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in January,2011. I don’t know how my contact had heard of me. But it certainly took courage to have a panel on “Innovation and UFOs”. He seemed to be pleased that, in my response expressing interest, I noted that my mantra is that technological progress comes from doing things differently in an unpredictable way and that the future, technologically speaking, is not an extrapolation of the past.

We have to change how we do things. Lasers aren’t just better light bulbs. The nuclear rockets I worked on are not just better chemical rockets. Computer chips aren’t just better vacuum tubes. In all these cases, entirely different physics is required for the new than was required for the old technique. Think computers versus slide rules.

Turns out this will be the 5th annual GCF. A major speaker at the first one was Bill Gates. Last year British prime Minister Tony Blair was a speaker. He is also speaking this year. This year I will be one of three Canadians. The others are Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien and Canadian Senator Marie Poulin. The objective was for me to be a member of a 5 man panel on Innovations and UFOs. The other panelists are to be Nick Pope of England, Dr. Jacques Vallee, who, besides being an outstanding ufologist, is involved in selecting new business ventures for support by venture capitalists, as well as Dr. Micho Kaku an astrophysicist who has spoken enthusiastically about the possibility of aliens out there, and Dr. Zaghloul El Naggar an Egyptian scholar and a member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.

The panel will last 75 minutes. The newest title is “Contact: Learning from Outer Space”. I intend to stress that aliens have taken innovative approaches to interstellar travel, travel in the atmosphere, examination of earthlings. So far as I know I am the only one of the 5 who has strongly stated a conviction that SOME UFOs are of alien origin. The others indicate that something of interest is happening, but they are unwilling to admit to the conclusion that aliens are visiting as opposed to merely being out there. I have appeared on Michio’s radio show a couple of times. Nick and I have a bet that earthlings will first find out flying saucer reality from UFOLOGY (my view) as opposed to from the SETI movement. (Silly Effort To Investigate.) Nick’s.

Michio has certainly shown much more courage than most academic theoretical astrophysicists. He came across well on that sad Peter Jennings mockumentary “UFOs: Seeing is Believing” on ABC-TV on February 24, 2005, noting that physics may well permit interstellar travel. They cut my interview from an hour to 20 seconds and called me a promoter twice. They also didn’t bother to note that Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr. was a medical Doctor, a Flight surgeon, a helicopter pilot, who was then serving (by government request at age 68) in Iraq .

He got in 225 combat hours as a helicopter pilot. One would have thought that these factors would have lent credibility to his comments as would have my scientific background, also not mentioned. Of course Dr. Marcel had also handled wreckage from Roswell. Michio also appeared on a Larry King show which was reacting to Stephen Hawking’s strange comments about don’t let aliens know we are here because of what happened to the natives who encountered Christopher Columbus. He also suggested that if aliens were visiting we would have heard from them.I have pointed out that we don’t know that there hasn’t been contact and that Columbus after all didn’t send smoke signals.

Preliminary estimates are that there will be about 800 attendees per day for the three day event and about 120 panelists and speakers. I was quite impressed with the positions held by various speakers. Corporate and government managers prevail. The Early Registration admissions fee is only $4000.Technically it is sponsored by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority. And it is a very long way. I must say it will certainly be warmer in Riyadh than in Fredericton in January. Interestingly while there had been initial comments about signing my books , books will no longer be available as the Forum will be will be an e-forum, a first for me and them, too. Supposedly I will be provided with an I-pod.

Here is the actual description of my panel as given in the program which is on the web:

“Psychological and socio-cultural assumptions and preconceptions constrain us to a large extent, and shape our views of the universe so that we are inclined to find what we are looking for and to fail to see what we are not. Using knowledge gained from research in the fields of Ufology and the search for extraterrestrial life, what might we possibly learn about hindrances to innovation in other areas of Inquiry? Subtitles: Innovation and anthropomorphism, ethnocentrism and ego.-Falsification and the evidence of absence—What Giordano Bruno would say.”

The above could have been part of a preface for the 2010 book “Science Was Wrong: Startling Truths about Cures, Theories, and Inventions “They” Declared Impossible” by Kathleen Marden and myself.

I, and all the other panelists and speakers were asked to submit a 250 word summary . Here is mine Summary for Riyadh Panel . Innovation and UFOs Stanton T. Friedman, Nuclear Physicist, Canada

After 52 years of study and investigation I have concluded that the evidence is overwhelming that Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled Extraterrestrial spacecraft. In other words, SOME UFOs are alien vehicles. I am also convinced, after working for many major corporations as a nuclear physicist, that technological progress comes from doing things differently in an unpredictable way. The future is not an extrapolation of the past. Microcircuits are not just small vacuum tubes; lasers are not just better light bulbs, nuclear reactors are not just better chemical combustion chambers. All involve “new” physics. Reviewing the UFO evidence forces us to examine our assumptions as to how things work.

Clearly chemical rockets cannot get us to the stars. Winged vehicles using propellers, jet engines, or rocket engines cannot provide silent high speed, highly maneuverable craft able to hover, make right angle turns and land and take off from sites not much larger than themselves.

Searching for new techniques, we find that nuclear fusion propulsion systems can on their way to the stars eject particles having 10 million times as much energy per particle as in a chemical rocket. Magnetoaerodynamic techniques seem able to control lift, drag, heating, sonic boom production.Shortening the duration of the acceleration increases the G-loads people can withstand. We find that mother Nature can be used to provide a lot of cosmic freeloading. Being smart is as important as being powerful.

Some of the other panel titles are “Innovation as a Means of Competitiveness”; “Innovation in Health Care”; “Rebooting Education”; “Capital: Wanted”; “Conscious Capitalism”; “Creativity at Work”; “New Skills for New Jobs”;”The Next Frontier”: and many more. A keynote speech by Michael Porter Professor at Harvard Business School will be “Competitiveness: a Strategic Perspective”. Another panel is “Building BRICS” (BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). Among the who’s who to be present will be a senior Vice President of IBM, The Chief Pilot for Boeing, the president of Georgia Tech, the executive vice president and chief Innovation Officer for DuPont, the Chairman of Walt Disney International and a whole host of other movers and shakers.

It seems ironic that very recently two different articles have appeared dealing with interstellar travel. One in Technology week, came from Marc Millis former head of NASA’Ss breakthrough Propulsion Physics Project and head of the Tau Zero Foundation which supports the science of Interstellar Travel.

“By looking at the rate at which our top speed and financial clout are increasing and then extrapolating into the future, it’s possible to predict when such missions [to the stars] might be possible. The depressing answer in every study so far is that interstellar travel is centuries away”.And Dr Campbell in 1941 said a rocket to get a man to the moon would weigh a million million tons. What is a factor of 300million between friends?

Papers have also come out echoing the nonsense from the astronomers and SETI specialists presented them at a Meeting of the Royal Society in London, last year.. nobody can go anywhere. Some of these same guys were saying space travel is utter bilge back in 1956.The 16 papers have now been published In the February 11 issue of The Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A No. 369 pp499-699.They seem to believe nobody out there got started before we did.. despite our very short history compared to the age of the neighborhood. Interesting article by Stan Friedman invited by the Saudi's to talk about UFOs [posted by permission, BTW]:

[Stanton Friedman]:
When I first heard of the comments from the Vatican Observatory Director,Astronomer (Reverend) Jose Gabriel Funes) in May 2008 and then Pope Benedict XVI about God could have made our brethen in space as well as us, I was quite surprised. It’s a reasonable question many have been asking and still are. Some are convinced that the Vatican has been on a conditioning effort to prepare the world and it’s ‘faithful’ for just such an announcement. Paola Harris has been the closest with the most access to high ranking Vatican officials about the topic and as I recall from chatting with her, she is convinced that the Vatican knows more than it has revealed and has observed increasingly serious statements by the Vatican on the topic.

I’m rather annoyed with Stanton about such a comment. Yeah, I think Pat and Jerry were unwise in what they asserted. Scripture is silent, though the Book of Enoch is not. It is foolhardy to argue from silence on such an important topic. In terms of can’t God do better than earthlings—Christ—HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON came to die for earthlings AT LEAST—AS AN EARTHLING. That’s a pretty high priority placed on God’s favorite Creation. I think Stanton and his globalist cohorts is showing his/?their? biases. There may be some propagandizing public manipulation and conditioning going on. Pentecostal Christians are particularly seen as the enemy by the globalists. And, certainly Pentecostals can be counted on mostly, to resist any conditioning, world government manipulations, coercions etc. by the globalists and their fallen angel/watcher/ ET critter co-globalists. It is not surprising that globalists would cast Pentecostals and evangelicals as the enemy and foolish, uninformed, backwards.

This is vintage Stanton. It is interesting to see the level of experts he was included in on this topic. I’m not greatly surprised at that. All the more so if he is a designated globalist . . . rep or agent on the topic.

Stanton does a great job of shredding SETI on his website.

INDEED. DR JESSE MARCEL JR IS ALSO A FREEPER.

I’M CERTAIN that the $4,000 admissions fee filters out the riffraff. Clearly some very powerful and very rich people are treating this a LOT more seriously than the naysayers on FR seem to have the awareness or brains to manage.

Here is the actual description of my panel as given in the program which is on the web:

I haven’t read his book. I did hear a shot presentation on it by him at a symposium. It sounds like him, for sure. I’m sure he’s shredded “scienctific” arrogance very well. He’s quite good at that. Thankfully. Someone needs to be.

I think Stanton said more between the lines than he did plainly. He doesn’t suffer fools gladly, if at all. And that often enables him to avoid inane and stupid questions to some degree.

None of that is true, it was an April Fool’s joke published as close as possible to April 1 in a small weekly newspaper. The revival of it as an actual news story happens from time to time; it may have been reintroduced to a wider public by David Hatcher Childress, who if nothing else is entertaining. Thanks Quix.

Sounds more plausible than many preposterous elements of the story.

I’d have thought that Mr Emery C Kolb would have known about it and he didn’t say anything to me about it. He would have, if it had been true, I think. He lived at the top of Bright Angel Trail since 1904. Died at 90 something IIRC. He was a real character. Loved working for him.
