It was my online friend narciso, the pen name of a brilliant commenter on the day's events, who first summed up this week's folderol over Sarah Palin. "One is struck," he noted, " by how much Plato's 'Tale of the Cave' seems to fit this paradigm ... Those that only follow the networks, or the Times or USA Today, even, are always 'unexpectedly surprised,' when reality doesn't match the paradigm they've assimilated by osmosis."

There have many theories offered by many very smart people to why these folks on the Left and take after Sarah Palin and act like they want to string her up in the town square or tar and feather her.

My theory: The desire to protect their Messiah from losing his throne and ministering to his flock.

Sounds about right and I don’t believe these polls that the MSM outlets are frantically referencing are anything but bogus. The more they fling poo at her, the less effect it has and the worse they look to the public at large.

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” is like salt on a slug to them. The show doesn’t pretend to be educational, like all the History and Discovery Channel Alaska shows, it just gives us Sarah and her basic philosophy while she wrangles a big, happy, noisy, unscripted family.

I think we’ve all had enough by now of presidents of dubious, dysfunctional upbringings.

I think he's right about liberal women -- Mo Dowd was the obvious case in point (screaming like a dinosaur and jumping on Palin's neck the very first night, like the climactic scene in Jurassic Park), but I was surprised, later on, to see Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan piling on -- even Mona Charen, eventually. Wow!

Yes, Sarah is running an open lab in female sociology, no doubt.

You have put forth some excellent points concerning the people who hate Sarah Palin. I believe all of your observations are valid however I choose to see the attack on Sarah Palin from a spiritual perspective.

Sarah is a born again, Spirit filled Christian. ALL the demons in hell are out to destroy her witness. As the old saying goes, she may be the only Bible anyone reads. Her good works and faith stands as a witness to her Lord and Savior Yahshua ha Mashiach.

For anyone not familiar with Spiritual warfare, Paul talks about it in the Book of Ephesians, where he tells us that we war not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, then what I am putting forth makes no sense. However to those that understand Spiritual warfare, they know what I am speaking is truth.

All Believers are called upon to cover Sarah in prayer. Ask the Father to put a Hedge of Fire around the Palin family so that they are divinely protected at all times.
Pray especially the scripture that NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST SARAH WILL PROSPER because of God's divine intervention.

If Sarah is destined to be the POUS, God will seat her in that office no matter how many demons come against her. Pray that her steps are ordered by the God of Israel as He ordered Deborah and that Sarah's anointing be strong and tangibly observed by all she encounters.

I’m in your camp on this one. When the name of Jesus is spoken every knee shall bend and every head bow in Heaven and hell. Satan screams and curses and lies but he had to drop to a knee and bow his head. I see this hatred of Sarah and liken it to Satan being forced to his knees. This is one of the best I’ve read on the Palin hate.

What they are doing to Sarah is the same as they do to Limbaugh or anyone else with widespread exposure who threatens their plans and their world view. They project upon their enemies all of their own foibles. The problem with this projection is they have left a wide and deep trail back to their own crimes. This exposes their hypocrisy and subjects them to ridicule. They hate that.

When someone comes along and lives a life, a very successful life, that exposes the Left's oft repeated lies, it is a threat to their very existence.

The light is very cleansing and the above quote speaks the truth..In addition, the elites want to block the success of anyone who did not attend Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Columbia. Their elite club guarantees success and Lordship over the masses. They do not want any of the other 90% getting that opportunity. Sarah represents the 90% of real working people out here. She is a big threat to their power and they want her stopped, by “hook or by crook.” Those who are involved in demonizing her and her family are despicable.

Thanks for posting this 2ndID, I had read it at AT but good to see it on FR. I was surfing your other posts and when I started noticing the time stamps I wondered when in the world do you sleep? I thought I was an insomniac! But glad you’re out there cruising the blogosphere.

Maybe it’s my advancing age that perhaps gives me a smidgen of insight but the moment Sarah Palin stepped out on that stage with baby Trig I knew the hounds of hell would be released, I just didn’t realize the ferociousness and the sheer volume of hatred that would be released which continues to this day without pause and if anything, has increased.

Prayers for Gov. Palin and her family. I started watching her Alaska series half interested and found them to be a delight of wholesome and real entertainment, a shining light in an otherwise dark world of TV programing.

BTW, like many Soldiers, our youngest son has 13 yrs. Infantry, 2 1/2 yrs. actual combat (CIB) in Iraq and has somewhat followed you in that he was in 2ndID Korea (Casey), 5 yrs. 1st Cav (2/7) at Ft. Hood, 3rdID and now at Ft. Jackson, thank God out of the deployment loop for now. Thank you for your service sir, good to see that MS flag waving too (my roots go back to the Delta—Tutwiler!).

Fairly decent analysis. Rather a compilation or summary of two years of observation by thousands of people over the Internet and various other easily accessed media.

Actually most of FR figured most of these points out some time ago..and many on the left and those who would do a fair assessment or have a fair bone about them have realized most of these points. I argued very similar ideas myself, even during the '08 campaign.

The problem is..why are thinking and fair-minded people still not on her side? The odd "poof" hair doesn't explain it but it should have been corrected...but most people can look passed it, except maybe the young people who think she is more of a mother figure trying to rip off a younger person hairstyle..a seemingly weird taboo or right of youth I suppose. But the young have a problem voting conservative by nature so that doesn't sum the problem up.

It seems the underlying unspoken force against her is very basic, namely her poor speech rhythm..which she has never corrected. It makes it impossible to overcome the propaganda that she is "stupid" when people tune out after a few of her odd, hard to understand sentences. People are giving up.
