Requiem for the American Left

Joan Swirsky

Our entire country, indeed the world, mourns the victims of the savage attack in Tucson that left six dead, including an esteemed federal judge and beautiful nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green; 14 seriously wounded; and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords fighting for her life after a bullet from the gun of her crazed killer and apparent stalker Jared Loughner entered and then exited her brain.

While millions of words have been written about this unspeakable tragedy, I write here of another mourning, specifically the agony of the left at having irrevocably lost the American public, and with that loss their grandiose ambitions of turning our Democratic Republic into a Communist stronghold.

Simply, the leftists-cum-progressives among us have never recovered from their thundering defeat in the midterm elections of November 2 – not just 63 seats in the House and six in the Senate, but also an overwhelming number of Republican governorships and control over more state legislative seats than any time since 1928....

Naah, they're all "centrists" now.

Aren't subjective language standards wonderful?

"...specifically the agony of the left at having irrevocably lost the American public..."
Though I echo those sentiments, will it turn out to be the case. There are so many very un-educated young people upward that just could vote for this asshole yet again.
They follow what the L/MSM and left tell them with often never spending endless hours of time delving into history, that show the players over the years that have decimated this country in so many ways, and steered it off what for a while was a pretty good deal. High employment. Jobs everywhere. Leaders in higher education, science, industry of all sorts, and the rest of the huge enchilada that made America the golden crown in the world's eyes.
If the right does not win big time in 2012 and ousts the current far left radicals, we are in deep shit.
2016 may literally be to late to start to try to at least get some things back on a course where America does not suffer very drastic consequences for all the wrong crap that has been allowed over the past twenty years and dating back.

Indeed, I wish I could be as optimistic as the author. The revolution has come to America, and the other side is going for broke. They may just have enough of a constituency to pull off a fundamental shift in the very core of the country. I believe we should still do all that we can, but wonder if only a divine intervention can save us now. I feel like I’ve been trapped in a real life version of the Lord of the Rings.

Remember that where the Communists succeeded, in the countries they attacked in the 40's through the 80's, they always had only a minority to work with. The question is not, "do they have a plurality?" but "is their minority big enough to take us down?"

The Socialist structure is built.

Countless leftist minions are already entrenched in the bureaucracy, including in the mass of Alphabet agencies (FBI, BATFE - wonder if they'll add anymore letters?, etc.) and the various other agencies that are ARMED (armed POST OFFICE goons?).

The lefts "educators" are making mush of young minds, and shoving revisionist history and other leftist propaganda down our childrens throats.

And on and on.

Despite Republican and Conservative gains, are there enough of them that will not blink and fall back on their dem-like, RINO ways?

Are there enough that will not continue to be PUSSIES, even in the face of a Socialist onslaught, which may, in the end, destroy the country as our Founders intended?

There may not be.

It may end up being WE THE PEOPLE that do what has to be done, and not just rely on our "representatives", to get our country back.

Rest assured. I have similar sentiments. There are literally so un-educated people both young, middle and old in America that vote.
It is the price we pay for this freedom. Which we are gratefully for having. But it don't help having morons, radical poor and otherwise not having the opportunities given them during their informative years to recognize the whole spectrum of Americanization over the past few centuries.
They have little to base their voting privilege on other then what they are feed, without the backgrounds to carefully view history, and the whole American experience.
They on one hand will hold their fist up against say a pharmaceutical that has doctors, technicians, and world class scientist working to provide medicines for their ailments. Or go against the industries that provide jobs to them, etc..
America has always been a real balancing act. Do have a great upcoming day.
In my case. I have been following this terrible shift for some thirty plus years. When I was younger I couldn't see through the trees.

Good post.

The Left’s goal is to keep Palin out of the Primaries. And so by the way is the GOP establishment.

“I write here of another mourning, specifically the agony of the left at having irrevocably lost the American public, and with that loss their grandiose ambitions of turning our Democratic Republic into a Communist stronghold.”

I don’t think those two statements go together. If you’ll remember, their takeover bills were passed against the will of the people. The Demonrats don’t think they need the consent of the electorate.

Indeed, I wish I could be as optimistic as the author.

Then stop being so pessimistic. We, the leaderless people, spontaneously rose up and knocked the progressives on their collective butts and you're feeling bad about the future? Stop focussing on the negative!

Try this. Ask yourself: What do you want? For the country? For your state and your home? Focus on those things and work to make them happen. The time is now. If not now, when?? The Republic won't be around much longer if we don't take care of this progressive problem.

Are there enough...?

No, there are not. Pains me to say it, but I'm convinced. It would take armed resistance, at this point. Too late to unschool the dumbed down generations; the media can't be shut down fast enough and the socialist measures of welfare and foreign aid can't be shut off. Anyone doubts it, try running on that platform. So we are left with the scenario of rebellion.

Who's going to do it? And to whom? Conservatives won't engage that way, they're law-abiding folks and fair-minded. They won't egg a window much less fire on a communist.

Nothing here on FR irritates me more than reading someone's puffed up perorations of "molon labe." Aside from one or two who might be exceptions, they are all holding losing hands and bluffing. We've all been dancing backwards so long, we think it's forwards.

The left gets away with calling the tune and the choreography; they have killed millions of infants, never mind seized your assets and handed it to moochers, and have not needed to pull a trigger since Waco.

Who are you gonna shoot, who never has to take a shot at you? Who never has to.

We are not only dancing backwards, we are bent over backwards with heads inserted rectally, while drawing new "lines in the sand" every day...and grumbling in the lower colon echo chambers, "Just you wait! Someday you'll push me too far! Molon labe!"

We the Sheeple have already abandoned the America of our forefathers. Visions of Civil War II, like visions of sugarplums, only help little lambs to fall asleep.

Alinsky-itis is a dread disease infecting the left.

In order for it to take hold, it needs humans in possession of extreme adolescence, psychosis, neurosis, bad toilet-training and highly active intestines .

In order to become a wide-spread disease, it needs brilliant, intellectual, really really smart independents to think that adolescent, psychotic, neurotic, badly-toilet-trained, visceral progressives are brilliant, intellectual, really really smart geniuses. (along with all those brilliant, intellectual, really-really smart, genius progressives and democrats.)

“The Socialist structure is built.”

Yes, but it’s about to implode.

The economy is experiencing an extremely weak “jobless” recovery, and it will fall soon into a double dip recession. Housing prices have already fallen by more than they fell during the 1930’s Depression. None of this will recover until we put the millions of jobless back to work.

Between that and getting squeezed on bonds by the Chicoms the gov’t is about to be forced to go on a severe diet. The nibbling around the edges that the GOP is proposing right now sounds nice but it’s not enough to take care of the problem. Like everything else in D.C. it only gets changed when they have no other choice. And that day is rapidly approaching.

Good article, wishful thinking. Whatever matters today will not matter tomorrow, and all of us have about 650 tomorrows to have our mental focus diddled however the MSM chooses.

Unfortunately, the left is not dead or marginalized. Socialism has been a colossal failure and they are still here. Failure doesn't bother them, they are used to it, hell, they expect it. We can never let up. Ever.

In a word----redistricting.

So far so good for Republicans.

Should be fun to see the Dems step into shallow water-—then watch Boehner raise the floodgates-—trapping all the Dems. Might even be a good time to peddle life jackets to the DNC (/snix).

Looks like Boehner's game is a strategic effort to stay beneath the radar---to repel disgruntled Dems oldtime strategy of zeroing in on Pubbies as the one to blame. They are already using that line of attack (remembering Pelosi's successful strategy in 2007-2008).

BTW, Sen Rand Paul formed a Tea Party Caucus to bookend Michele Bachman's Tea Party Caucus in the House.

So I guess this means Trent Lott's coming after them.............ROTFL.
