Rep. Michele Bachmann to deliver Tea Party response to State of the Union
Daily Caller ^ | 1/21/11 | Chris Moody

Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, one of the most conservative members of Congress and founder of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus, will deliver an alternative response to President Obama’s State of the Union address on Jan. 25th, her office confirmed Friday.

The speech, which will be broadcast online and sponsored by Tea Party Express, a California-based political action committee, will compete with the Republican’s official response by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Tea Party Express announced Bachmann’s speech in an e-mail sent to supporters Friday morning.

Actually, the best bet, and the one that would annoy the RINOs the most, is if Ryan spoke first, and then Bachmann spoke after him. This would create the impression that she was rebutting *both* Obama and Ryan.

And she would be.

An excellent way for the Tea Party to keep the Republican leaderships feet to the fire.

Thanks for the ping.

What do you think of the present scheduling TIME for her remarks?

Personally, in this day & age of replay UPON replay UPON rebroadcast ad infinitum, I don't see where it matters who speaks when -- although, out of respect for the office of the POTUS, obviously the SOTU should come first.

Elsewise, I'm sure I'll view both responses plenty of times next week.

Two response speeches = gay. MB should be delivering the only speech.

Kind of ridiculous to broadcast both Bachmann's and Ryan's speeches at the same time, IMO...

It's going to compete in context, not in time slot.

It won't be broadcast at the same time, but after Ryan's speech. SOTU-3

Chris Matthews and some other libs are singing Bachmann’s praises today on the TV.

Kinda surprised me, I can't figure why the libs back her.

Cool! I’ll bet this gets more listens than the regular Republican response.

I’ll listen to Bachmann’s response but I have no intention of listening to Obama. I have a blood pressure problem.

“I’ll listen to Bachmann’s response but I have no intention of listening to Obama.”

I’ve had time to think about it, and I agree with you. I realize the truth is I can’t stand to listen to that cheeky Kenyan bastard. It is not going to happen!!!

I have a very low gag level. Ask the last doctor who tried to thrust a tongue depressor into my mouth to view my throat. I think she is still cleaning herself off.

I live in Panama (EST). Can you give me some ideas about Bachmann’s rebuttal? We get FOX here.

Thank you so much.
