Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, one of the most conservative members of Congress and founder of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus, will deliver an alternative response to President Obama’s State of the Union address on Jan. 25th, her office confirmed Friday.
The speech, which will be broadcast online and sponsored by Tea Party Express, a California-based political action committee, will compete with the Republican’s official response by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee.
Tea Party Express announced Bachmann’s speech in an e-mail sent to supporters Friday morning.

If FOX News was really a “conservative” network, they’d pre-empt Ryan for Bachmann.

I had no plans to hear the S of the U.
But now I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
As a tea partier I think its idiotic to have it at the same time as Ryan’s. I hope it takes place afte Ryan so Bachmann can show where we stand with the GOP response but also where we feel its necessary to go further.
This will make my day. After suffering Barky, we will get Michele to counteract the BS.
Great choice - I believe this will be on very early in the morning here. I’ll (easily) avoid the State of the Union address itself, but will make an effort to catch Bachmann’s response.

Interesting that Michele is accepting this invitation of the Tea Party Express. I thought that the Tea Party was a movement, not a Party. Hopefully, she and Paul Ryan will be speaking from the same playbook. I hate circular firing squads.

I agree. Bachmann and Ryan don’t have divergent views. I’m glad that the TEA Party is offering it’s own response. One of the things about 0bama’s presidency that I like is that he has drawn the line of demarcation quite strongly. Dummycrats have to recognize that their party is now composed of Democrats and Marxists and decide what to do about that, and our representatives have got to decide whether they’re RINOs or Republicans and everybody knows that (s)he had better be on her/his best behavior through ‘12. This move to have Bachmann deliver her response, in addition to Ryan’s response, underscores that.
