Oakland 2nd Graders Reportedly Engage In Sex Acts, Teacher Suspended
KCBS ^ | 1/21/11

A teacher at Oakland’s Markham Elementary School has been suspended indefinitely after school officials said a pair of second-graders performed sex acts on each other in class – with the teacher present.

“I think everyone is taken aback over this shocking incident,” Troy Flint, the spokesman for the Oakland Unified School District, told CBS 5 on Thursday. “Of course, it is hard to understand how that could have occurred.”

Flint said the sex acts incident was one of two separate cases under investigation involving the teacher; both incidents occurred last week in the same classroom but he said they didn’t come to the attention of school officials until Wednesday.

In one case, several students apparently took off their clothes and were naked in the classroom. In the second incident, a boy and girl reportedly engaged in oral sex in front of their classmates.

Flint indicated that the suspended teacher, whose name was not released by the school district, was present for both of the incidents.

Nothing will change.

Why?

Two words.

.

.

.

.

.

Wait for it...

.

.

.

.

.

Free babysitting.

The teachers pretend to teach, the students pretend to learn, and the parents pretend that the teachers are teaching and the students are learning.

For the free babysitting.

It's as simple as that.

As the husband of a 2nd grade teacher and the father of a 2nd grader, I can see how this occurred.

The education groups running education have gotten away from traditional learning procedures and are forcing teachers to start using “education centers” in the classroom.

The “education centers” are small groups of kids sent to the various 5-6 places and nooks and crannies all across the classroom. The teachers have been forced to create spaces where these groups are to sit and meet. That means that some “center groups” are located in an area that is not visible to the teacher.

The teachers can only be in one “center group” at a time and do not see what is going on in the hidden areas of the classroom. The liberal educators say that the children teach one another and do not need the teacher in these “center groups”.

My wife hates these groups, as the kids play and can not be properly supervised in this set up. Teachers have no choice but to follow the orders of the district bosses and use these groups. They are a license to play, as we are seeing.

>I can’t understand why no arrest has been mentioned since the article said this is the 2nd investigation on this teacher.<

I think the article was written kind of poorly. It says that there were two incidents that were being investigated. They probably learned of them at the same time.
It does not sound like they had one investigation going prior to this. If you understand what i am trying to say.

I have 4 kids. I wanted to home school, but to be honest there is no way I could keep up with what they have to learn.
My wife stayed home and became a room mother for the kids classes. She even became president of the PTA.
She was at the school so much that they offered her a job as a teachers aid, but she refused because she wanted the ability to go to my kids rooms and not be sent to where they would put her.

Private schools are about $8,000.00 a year per child. So that was not really an option either. Though my oldest did do that, I couldn’t afford it for the other three sadly.

Then you have to think about colleges and where they can get accepted based upon what they have learned and where they come from etc. It ain’t easy, but we watched like hawks. Still do!

remember years ago there was a martial arts teacher who molested one of his students? as he was passing a public area the father came out from behind a telephone booth, dropped him fast and surrendered immediately?

Saved the tax payers a lot of money in the process, but deprived some cell mates of fresh meat.

That may well be the case of why he didn’t see it the first time. But don;t you think that in these groups one of the kids would have said something?

Where did they get the idea for it to begin with?

Having 2nd graders out of your site for any amount of time is unacceptable. If they want to split them in groups, fine, but why have them in groups that can not be visible from any view point in an unobstructed manner?

Any parent knows that ANYTHING can happen in seconds. That is why most conscientious parents have these massive bags under their eyes until the kid is out of the house and on their own. Hell I am carrying around louis vuitton steamer trunks under my eyes!

Parts of Oakland are really bad. I heard a report on NPR recently (okay, okay, but sometimes NPR does good work — even a blind hog finds an acorn occasionally) about how it’s not uncommon for teenage girls there to be kidnapped off the street and forced into prostitution (taken to another town such as Sacramento where they don’t know anyone, and threatened into compliance). Police won’t do anything since they classify them as runaways. You could not pay me enough to live in Oakland.

Is the teacher male of female? And has his/her computer been searched for child porn?

I googled yesterday. It seems there is an almost total blackout of this story.
No details on the teacher have been released, not even gender.

Hopefully, “investigation” would include the computer search, and much much more.

Officer Munz, you mad dog!

How the heck are you? I’ve been wondering if you were hibernating under all that upstate snow...

BTW I think that in Post #105 you meant an “extremely VICIOUS” cellmate, not ‘viscous.’ Indeed, we’d really prefer an extremely vicious and UNviscous cellmate for optimum effect, right?

Cheers to you from Idaho brother....
