The right’s favorite lightning rod doesn’t bother defending herself against critics. That job falls to Rebecca Mansour, an ex-Hollywood screenwriter with sharp teeth.
A Lebanese American who grew up in Michigan, Mansour, who is in her mid-thirties, is a former Hollywood screenwriter who felt so strongly about Palin—whom she’d never met—that she founded the website Conservatives4Palin. Originally hired to help with Palin’s famous Facebook page, Mansour says on her Twitter feed that she is speaking only for herself. But she whacks Palin’s detractors with such thumb-in-the-eye passion as to make her boss seem downright diplomatic.
There are the “puppy-kickers” and “porn producers” at Politico. The “liar” at the Associated Press who said Palin provided no press access on her visit to Haiti except for Fox News. The “semi-literate buffoons at MSNBC.” The “mouth-breathing loon” Aaron Sorkin. The Maureen Dowd column that chided Palin for shooting a caribou on her TLC show that was “so stupid I thought it came from The Onion.”
That's a problem ~ what it means is that you cannot possibly understand how folks in Flyover Country think of her.
Of note, in the Midwest if you are of working class origins you have at least a 50/50 chance of being a Republican, and a 50/50 chance of being a Conservative Democrat. The Leftwingtards in the Midwest live in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Madison, Milwaukee, and a handful of other large cities with large East Coast refugee populations.
They leave because of the oppression and they move to the Midwest and try to impose the same nonsense on everyone else.
Whatever it is the Leftwingtard New York Metro Area press thinks of Sarah Palin, always remember that elsewhere real Americans think the Leftwingtard New York Metro Area "newsies" are Anti-American and should be deported somewhere else. (Uh, I'm being polite about what folks think should be done with your local "newsies")
I think Mansour is very, very good and a real weapon for Palin. But she should not be managing her press message, speaking out, even on twitter, or interacting with the press directly.
Palin needs a real pro for that. Too bad Mary M. is still with The Serpent Head. I could see augmenting her team with someone like that, Liz Cheney would be great if she could rope her in too. She needs some contacts with the political press who are already experienced with them on the national level.
Believe me, I understand the cause for wariness if not paranoia when dealing with the Washington GOP Establishment, but she can’t chase them all into her opposition camps for the primaries and have no press glad-hander and handler for establishing a better relationship with them, biased as they are.
An announcement to run is really her last chance to reset her relationship with the press, and it needs to be rolled out with a professional team that will work effectively with the MSM. (And yes, the use of ‘Lamestream Media’ probably has to be retired for the Palin camp as well.)
I want to see all this (and the secret service protection that could come with an early announcement), in maybe three or four weeks. Once the current uproar dies down, but before too long.
Get a grip. Not everyone in Hollywood working in movies/TV has their heads up Democrat’s butts. Where else is a screen writer going to work? It’s a job/career not a lifestyle.
That reminds me of one of those famous “blooper” e-mails that went around several years ago, containing hilarious mistakes from people writing letters to schools about their children.
The one I recall went something like this:
“How dare you brand my son as illiterate! His father and I were married more than a month before he was born!”

Don’t care...Hollywood writers, actors, etc. aren’t going to help Palin get elected. As good as Palin is she preaches to the choir. Unfortunately there aren’t enough choir members to get her to the White House. Palin needs to attact Indpendents and normal Democrats (if there are any left) like Reagan did.

The test of a conservative is in their deeds - voting record, bills sponsored, actual works.
I can’t remember which one it is, but there’s a prominent conservative talker that was educated at UC Berkeley.
That formerly great school is about as red as it gets. Hollywood is in trouble and it knows it. The music industry is literally on its last legs. The current number 1 album on the chart made it by only selling 44,000 copies.
When Obama was elected, I thought the left would overreach, and here we are. Steele’s gone, and we’ll see what the Stupid Party’s going to do in the Senate with the repeal vote the House handed them. Boehner made quick work of that. Wish he’d move on to some sort of tort reform, although it may be a ‘state’s rights’ issue.
He could go to work on dismantling federal government - EPA, HHS, Energy, Labor, ICC, and reforming the FDA.
Well, whoever it was that impersonated her in her 8-minute video and the interview on Hannity sure did a fine job.
