I will say, although I’m not a birther, this is getting pretty interesting. Especially in light of the SOS saying during the campaign she saw it and had it locked in a safe.

I don’t consider myself a Birther, but it does make one wonder why producing the BC couldn’t be a simple matter.

It could be that if indeed he is legit, they don’t want to make it obvious....it could be by keeping it in doubt, it keeps the Birthers around, which they figure is good for Obama politically, because it helps them to portray Obama’s opponents as kooks.

So in essence, they would almost prefer to keep a shadow of doubt around the origin of Obama’s birth.

I would laugh and laugh if the truth turned out to be that he was born in Honolulu, but his clever mother had the record removed somehow, so that he could be registered as a “foreign student” when he went to college at Occidental and Columbia.

Or she had the record removed when he became Barry Soetoro and lived in Indonesia. Is he still eligible for an Indonesian passport?

I’d like to know what proofs were provided when he got his first US passport. Birth certificates are a primary requirement. I guess those records have been “lost” too.

Which is not exactly SOP.

Besides, how can you lock something up which doesn’t exist?
