I think Eletrolux is a Swedish company.

You somehow forgot to mention the jobs are being OUTSOURCED.

To Mexico.

This is not about unions. It is about globalism, and “free trade”.

Traitors.

The Messenger in Fort Dodge reported that the company began building a presence in Mexico several years ago in anticipation of moving production there.

What was left that was not made in China will now be made in Mexico or Canada.

Fwiw, last month Electrolux announced it was building a plant in Memphis, Tennessee. Go figure. I wonder if this new plant will use union labor?

I still use an Electrolux vacuum that my father bought in 1968. Works as well now as ever—amazing suction unmatched by any of the plastic Chinese crap in stores today.

Electrolux in MN has a largely Islamic night and possibly day shift with Somalis. They have prayer breaks to pray to Allah. I hope the company goes out of business. Their competitor GE (NBC/CNBC/MSNBC) loves China and Islam too.

Thank open borders and a news media and ALL of TV including Fox supporting Hussein and Islam.

More “death groans” from the dying giant that was once a great giant.

Six years is all it took in the hands of the communists. And oh yeah, they have been slowly disintegrating every facet of our society for years as we allowed them an inch because it wasn't a mile.

Anyone who doesn't vote against this in 2012 can bear the responsibility and shame for the final blow.

At this point in time I would even vote for Trump.

Hmmmm...

I sold Electrolux vacuums 30 years ago.

Great product but taught me I don’t care for sales in the home.

I worked for this company for more than three years back in the Nineties in the plant that made the washing machine transmissions that fed the Webster City assembly plant mentioned in the article.

This is a very big blow to our whole area and several communities.

It’s been coming for years, though. They’ve been reducing, reducing, reducing their work force for a very long time.

When I worked there they were already working extensively with the Brazilians, but I don’t know where the work is ending up. Frankly, I haven’t followed it that closely.

I never got electrolux’s move into the appliance business recently myself.

They were a staple of HIGH END, dependable Vaccuums. IN the last few years they started trying to sell appliances, at least here in the states.

There vaccuums were supurb, they would literally last you a lifetime, can’t say anything about their appliances.

Electrolux, the company that has the dumbest sales strategy ever: They refuse to allow retail outlets to set prices. They do not make products that are so superior to other products that they can command such high prices. They routinely are at least 20% over the price of other equal products. In this market, price makes for sales. I just bought all new kitchen appliances. Electrolux never made the short list due to their significantly higher price but equal quality products.
