Harry Reid calls Chinese leader Hu Jintao a 'dictator'

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) labeled Chinese President Hu Jintao a “dictator,” just as President Barack Obama prepares to host the Chinese leader on Wednesday at a state dinner aimed at soothing tensions between the two world powers.

Reid’s off-the-cuff comments came Tuesday night during a televised interview with Las Vegas journalist Jon Ralston, who asked the majority leader whether the bipartisan tax compromise Obama struck with Republican leaders last year was a good deal for the country.

“I am going to go back to Washington and meet with the President of China. He is a dictator. He can do a lot of things through the form of government they have. Maybe I shouldn’t have said dictator, but they have a different type of government then we have, and that is an understatement,” Reid said in the interview.

“So we have to work in the system we have, the best system ever devised to rule the affairs of men and women,” Reid continued. “And one of the few ways we get things done, in fact the most important way we get things done, is through compromise. It’s not a bad word, and that is how we get things done.”

Yeah, anybody who governs against the will of the people is a dictator, right Harry? I mean, take for example the fact that over 60% of the American people want the health care bill repealed, yet certain Democrat leaders are simply refusing to even discuss it...

Oh, yes - - Dingy Harry is all about compromise - - that’s why he’s refusing to bring the Obamacare Repeal Bill that the House passes to the floor of the Senate. I’m sure each FReeper can think of at least 1 instance in which Harry has *compromised* with the Pubbies over the past few years - - -he’s done it so often (/s).

I agree with Harry. And I think he, perhaps unknowingly, stumbled upon the reason Barry likes Hu so much.

My guess is that Harry’s leash holders were burned by some Chinese fraudsters like Denninger is describing today.

Must be Harry isn't getting his usual cut out of the latest treason deal.

Sure would be nice if he was one of the 40 names on the upcoming Wikileaks release of tax evaders....

lol, this is the form of government the left (Harry Reid) covets, but as usual, he slipped up and put it out to the public airwaves and then stumble all over himself trying to back track.

*“I am going to go back to Washington and meet with the President of China. He is a dictator. He can do a lot of things through the form of government they have.*

…He said with a faraway look in his eyes as he dreamt that the Democrats could have a dictatorship.

On the other hand, it’s a great day for Reid. It’s the first time that he’s ever made a factual political statement in public.
“Good job. Take the day off Harry, and celebrate!”
