Somali accused of attempting to kill Kurt Westergaard with axe
The Somali man who threatened Mohammed cartoonist Kurt Westergaard with an axe and a knife took the stand at the court in Aarhus today.
The man, 29-year-old Mohamed Geele, is charged with intending to commit an act of terrorism, attempted murder, assaulting an officer on duty and violating the weapons law. He denies the charges of attempted terror and attempted murder, but admits to breaking into Westergaard’s house on January 1 last year.
Geele told the court that he felt provoked by Westergaard’s indifference to allegations that his Mohammed drawings had cost lives.
He insisted that he brought the axe with him because Westergaard refused to open the door, and not because he wanted to kill him.
“I thought that by threatening and scaring Kurt Westergaard, maybe I could convince him to stop bragging about his drawings,” he said, referring to Westergaard’s happy appearance after receiving an honour in the US.
“I had seen in the media that his house was surrounded by police officers one time when he had received an anonymous parcel. So I thought that since he wasn’t going to open the door for me, I’d better bring my axe so I could get through the door.”
Geele also brought a large knife and respirator face mask.
“I wanted to scare him with the knife, and I used the mask to cover my face,” he explained.
He then smashed his way through the armoured windows and entered the house. Westergaard, having ensconced himself behind an armoured door in the bathroom, desperately tried to get hold of the police. “I’m dead if you don’t come over immediately,” Westergaard was reported as telling the police.
Meanwhile, Geele was hammering away at the armoured bathroom door, hurling threats and curses at the cartoonist.
In the living room only meters away sat a five-year-old girl, the daughter of a friend of Westergaard’s, witnessing the spectacle.
When the police arrived a few minutes later, Geele gave up on Westergaard and ran out onto the road in front of the house, where he reportedly attacked police officers with the axe and the knife. The officers pacified him with two shots, one in the knee and one in the hand.
Kurt Westergaard, who never came face to face with Geele, is due for questioning in court tomorrow.
Nine days have been assigned for the trial, and a verdict is expected early next month.
A shotgun in the domicile would have certainly settled the debate over how to plea.

Of course he’s innocent. He’s just following the rules and instructions of the religion of peace.

WHY in the HELL have these European countries opened their doors in the FIRST place to these scum???
