RUSH: RUSH: The one-hundredth year anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth is coming up. Yeah, it is. And the Drive-Bys and the Democrats, you'll see it popping up, "Oh, what a wonderful time the eighties was. Tip O'Neill and Ronaldus Magnus, yeah, they mighta gone at it tooth and nail in the daytime, but then they went out and had a beer after work." That never happened. Reagan never left the White House for a beer. The 1980s were just as vitriolic as they are today.

I remember constant crowds assembled in DC angrily protesting all of Reagan's policies, particularly his defense policies.
There were constant screams of "Armaggedon" and hate-filled propoganda about how Reagan was trying to get us all killed.

All of this will help them warm up to President Palin.

Governor Reagan was despised by the commies on the California college campi. He did not care. God love him!
Christopher Hitchens
In the 1980s, he referred to Reagan as a “criminal” and “militarist fascist” who was bent on overthrowing democracy at home and suppressing “workers” revolutions abroad.
Upon Reagan’s death, Mr. Hitchens referred to him as a “cruel and stupid lizard.”
Conservatives and Liberals are two competing evolutionary psychologies. Go back to before Homo sapiens was Homo sapiens, and these two psychologies would have been battling it out, often far more violently than they are now.
What we need to realize is that Liberals oppose vitriol today for a reason. They are beginning to be seen as the selfish incompetents they are, and they are afraid of the public turning on them. If this was the 60’s and they thought vitriol was to their advantage, they’d be bombing police stations as we speak.
We need more vitriol, not less. It’s the only way to cow the Liberal peacefully.

The GOP establishment didn’t like Reagan either, but they had to be quiet about it.
No one recalls the lefts lie that He met with the Taliban and said they were These gentlemen are the moral equivalents of Americas founding fathers ?
I wasn't aware that President George H. W. Bush and President George W. Bush were not Republicans.
Not conservatives, true, at least on fiscal policy, but surely both men are honorable gentlemen, and, loyal Republicans.
