Frist: Don't repeal health care bill (Put a lid on it has-been RINOs)

A top Republican has come out against efforts by his party to repeal President Obama's health care reform bill currently underway in the House.

Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tennessee, said at a press conference Tuesday at the Bipartisan Policy Center - an organization he chairs with former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, among others - that the law should stand, according to The Huffington Post.

"It is not the bill that [Republicans] would have written," he said. "It is not the bill that I would have drafted. But it is the law of the land and it is the platform, the fundamental platform, upon which all future efforts to make that system better, for that patient, for that family, will be based."

He added: "[The bill] has many strong elements," Frist added later. "And those elements, whatever happens, need to be preserved, need to be cuddled, need to be snuggled, need to be promoted and need to be implemented. But how do you do it? How do you do a lot of what is in this law?"

It’s just hard to fathom how Frist could make sucn a vile and condescending statement. I hope the people of Tennessee will take action.

Frist was a good charitable doctor who went to Africa and did surgery pro bono for the natives. He should go back to this honorable practice, and remember (privately) the reason he is a "former" and "ex-" everything political.

He must be the only physician in the country who thinks this way. Probably because he’s retired on a cushy federal pension and benefits package that he didn’t contribute a dime towards

His family owns and/or operates a whole slew of hospitals. He is immensely wealthy. Follow the money.

Good lord, does this line in the narrative say it all?

"...an organization he chairs with former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, among others - that the law should stand, according to The Huffington Post."

“The mentality of a GOP leader.” You’ve got that right. What do they say, power corrupts? Our guys go down there to DC, and it’s not long... maybe 2 terms, and they’re suddenly reach-across-the-aisle RINOs. Only a few, Jesse Helms comes to mind, stay true to their conservative principles. An active Tea Party, though, will help keep our guys on the reservation.

>WTF is the matter with this guy?<

He doesn’t give a flip because as a former member of the Senate, he’s exempt.

He and his family own HCA so they will somehow make billions if nobamacare isn’t rejected. frist is a rich idiot with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

LOL well well the GOP is never wrong supporters got salt tossed in their eyes by their favorite beloved RINO Icon. Gee but he was Mr He Can Do No Wrong to most in here as SML. His so called Medicare Reform? LOL He took a health care plan which Former Tennessee Governor Ned Ray Wherter-DEM, Al Gore, and Hillary force fed the state and used the exact same plan for Medicare reform. The Sheeple said Oh He's So Wise. LOL.. IOW HMO overseen but paid by the government.

Frist is of the Liberal side of the GOP Meaning he was and is of the Bush/Rockefeller side of it. We have two more Tennessee U.S. senators just like him Corker and long time Bush friend Alexander who never met a DEM or more big governnment idea he could not vote for either. Well most the time anyway.
