Former Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell (R) has officially filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to organize her own political action committee -- Christine PAC.
The Tea Party favorite and Sarah Palin-backed candidate upset former Rep. Mike Castle (R) in Delaware's GOP Senate primary but lost to Democrat Chris Coons by 16 percentage points. Still, that loss hasn't deterred her, and she indicated last month she intended to remain active in politics and that she was moving ahead with her own PAC.
In a letter to the FEC dated Jan. 3 and received on Jan. 14, her treasurer, Paul Kilgore, writes that: "This committee intends to make independent expenditures" and "intends to raise funds in unlimited amounts." According to the FEC filing, Christine PAC will be based out of Wilmington, Del.
O'Donnell's campaign committee is being investigated by the FBI after the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics filed a complaint that she had allegedly used campaign cash to pay for personal expenses.
Well, that will give Tokyo Rove something to blather about.
It is going to be real hard to miss her if she WILL NOT go away!
And I’m glad she’s doing it.
StupidPAC? WitchPAC? Give me a break. Just go get a job or start a business Christine, like the rest of us.
What does it matter. There is no down side to this. She raises money and gives it to Tea Party candidates. She builds influence and experience. COD does have a following after all. May as well use it to her advantage.
I suggest she actually work at a real job for awhile before running again
Good for her.
At least she will support conservative candiates and causes.
And last week, in a special election in Deep Blue New Castle County, the impossible to breach stronghold of the Dems here in Northern Delaware, a Republican was elected as the head of the New Castle County Council.
The GOP in Delaware in not dead yet. Only the DE RINOs face extinction here.
God bless Christine O’Donnell. Even after last year’s campaign, I don’t regret a dime or moment of time spent on her behalf. She took the heat and exposed the corrupt
RINO/Dem alliance here in DE.
Why?
I know the CO’D haters on FR will be having a feeding frenzy, but I think Christine could have a role in politics in the future. Maybe she should try for the House of Representatives next.
... while she's still got that cute face and pert body. Time's running out....
You don't seriously believe she'd have the following she does, if she looked like Helen Thomas....?
There's only one house seat in Delaware, so it's a statewide office.
She's repeatedly lost badly trying for Delaware statewide offices, including a 16-point defeat when there was a massive Republican tidal wave in the last election.
She lives in Wilmington, I believe, so I don't think she even has a chance of winning anything in the State Legislature, either, unless she moved to the Southern part of the state.
Basically, in a couple years she'll be about as political visible as Katherine Harris is now.
Aw jeez, I want to hear from O’Donnell on political strategy about as much as I want to hear from John DeLorean on running a car company, or Vince McMahon on starting up a pro football league.
Maybe she should try for the House of Representatives next.
Where. Why do you think she could win the congressional seat when she’s already been rejected for the Senate in 06, 08 and 10?
Good for her. I’m glad she’s not going to “sit down” and “shut up” or “sit at the back of the bus”!
Why do that when you can live off the labor of others?
Well, she raised a record amount of money for the last campaign and got even fewer votes than in hwer previous run. It seems that the more voters get to know her, the worse she does.
Maybe if she gives away all her money to her opponent, she'll get more votes...?
