He really blew it in that NFC title game against New Orleans at the end of the 2009 season. Had he just held onto the ball and taken a knee, they’d have kicked what would have been the game winning field goal. A bit more of a craftsman’s attitude and a bit less of a gunslinger’s attitude, and he’d have seen another Super Bowl.

...ironically, he also tarnished his reputation by throwing an ill-advised pass at Jenn Sterger, late in his career, into heavy New York media coverage....of course it was picked off by the media, humiliating Farve and breaking the heart of his wife of many years. Apparently he was a gunslinger off the field too.
