I agree. We should be funding warm fusion, cold fusion, and nuclear. Wind shouldn't be funded at all. Biofuels and solar should be funded at the research level only. No supplementation for products that aren't proven to be market viable.

• Upgrading the grid, to handle new plants.
• Preparing new power sites that could be used for either nuclear or fusion.
• Be building at least some nuclear plants.
• Have regional sites prepared that could quickly accept small concrete nuclear plants in the event of disasters.
• Fund battery research.
• And fund the design of conversion kits for autos so that as soon as cheap electricity became available, vehicles could be converted.

A focus on lowering energy prices, both electrical and gasoline, would put funds back in consumers prices, lower the costs of food and goods which are dependent on energy prices , and seriously help the economy.

You assume that Ruling Class would want any of that to happen. Things are proceeding quite nicely for them.
