Nutra Pharma Announces Launch Of Cobroxin, An Over-the-Counter (OTC) Treatment For Stage 2 (Moderate To Severe) Chronic Pain
Nutra Pharma Corp. (OTCBB: NPHC), a biotechnology company that is developing treatments for Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN), HIV and Multiple Sclerosis (MS), has announced that it has launched an over-the-counter (OTC) pain reliever, Cobroxin, for the treatment of Stage 2 (moderate to severe) chronic pain.
Cobroxin is the first OTC pain reliever clinically proven to treat Stage 2 (moderate to severe) chronic pain. The drug, which was developed by Nutra Pharma's wholly-owned drug discovery subsidiary, ReceptoPharm, will be available as an oral spray for treating lower back pain, migraines, neck aches, shoulder pain, cramps and neuralgia and as a topical gel for treating repetitive stress, arthritis, and joint pain.
Additional benefits to Cobroxin include:
- All Natural
- Non-Addictive
- Non-Narcotic
- Non-Opiate
- More Potent than Morphine
- Long Lasting
"Cobroxin is a next generation pain reliever that addresses physician and consumer demand for a safer and less costly treatment for chronic pain," commented Rik J Deitsch , Chairman and CEO of Nutra Pharma Corporation. "Cobroxin provides affordable and accessible pain relief for those without healthcare coverage, for those looking for a safer and effective treatment for pain, and for those not receiving effective or lasting relief from OTC NSAIDs," he added.
Pain is the single most common reason patients seek medical care and accounts for half of all physician office visits in the United States. According to the American Pain Foundation, each year, more than 25 million people in the United States experience acute pain as a result of injury or surgery. Additionally, more than 50 million people in the United States are affected by ongoing chronic pain.
Current treatments for chronic pain include both opiate-based analgesics including Vicodin, Percocet, and Morphine, and those containing acetaminophen, such as Tylenol. Debate surrounding the use of opiates primarily focuses on the negative side effects observed with opiate-based analgesics, including nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, itching, constipation, respiratory depression, addiction, severe withdrawal symptoms and the buildup of tolerance, requiring higher dosage over time to experience the same effect. Additionally, recent media coverage has highlighted the dangers of using analgesics containing acetaminophen, which, in higher dosages, can cause liver damage or even death.
"What differentiates Cobroxin from other current analgesics is that it uses a novel mechanism of action discovered from cobra venom peptides for treating pain without the negative side effects observed in current opiate-based analgesics and those containing acetaminophen," explained Dr. Paul Reid, CEO of Nutra Pharma's wholly-owned drug discovery subsidiary, ReceptoPharm. "With extensive supporting evidence from 46 human clinical studies and a well-defined safety profile, we believe that Cobroxin will soon become the preferred method for treating chronic pain," he concluded.
In preparation for commercializing Cobroxin, Nutra Pharma recently announced that ReceptoPharm had filed a patent application for a novel composition and method for oral delivery of cobra venom for the treatment of pain. The company plans to begin marketing and selling Cobroxin upon successful submission of final packaging and labeling to the FDA.

Please ping me to your results, please. Back pain from an injury here and doctors don’t want to even consider treatment.
Which is precisely the correct thing to do. "Chinese traditional medicine" has yielded a number of significant drug approaches. One example is "red rice yeast". Today we call the drugs found naturally therein as "Lovastatin". Generically, statins.
They probably have a sideline business of selling those magical bracelets that let you withstand getting pushed over at the mall.....
I’d want to see a list of side effects before even trying it.
I have chronic wide spread pain from Fibromyalgia and Osteo Arthritis. And can NOT take any arthur meds at all because of the gastro-intestinal side effects. Even 2 aspirin once a day will cause all kinds of havoc with my gut.
No, I don't.
At one point, ALL of the current Fortune 500 companies were "thirteen cent a share bulletin board stock".
Name one, and back it up with facts. Many may have been small companies once, but they didn't languish on the bulletin board as penny stocks.
MOST innovation today STILL comes from small companies.
Agreed, but some small companies are legitimate, and others aren't.
The only difference is that, rather than get bigger themselves, they are bought up by the Fortune 500 types.
Some get bigger, some get bought out, but most go out of business.
Do you have a financial interest in Nutra Pharma?
No. My sister happened to tell me about it. As an osteopath, I'm aware of the problems with acetaminophen, NSAIDs and opioids for chronic pain.
OK, but be aware that the financial market indicates that this company has nothing special, and a true alternative equal to or better than available pain killers would be something special.
I'll do better, I'll name two.
Dow Chemical. General Electric. Read the biographies of H.H. Dow and Thomas Edison for the relevant facts.
"Agreed, but some small companies are legitimate, and others aren't."
I would say MOST are legitimate. In fact the vast majority are.
"Some get bigger, some get bought out, but most go out of business."
Of those that succeed, a much higher percentage today gets bought out by a bigger company than historically, especially in the bio-tech world.
MOST companies fail, some sooner some later. Even Fortune 500 companies do.
When was either company a penny stock (or its equivalent) on a backwater stock exchange for multiple years?
Thomas Edison's life is an incredible story, BTW.
Very interesting. Just in time as Joe flipped the SUV on black ice this am & totaled it. He is going to be hurting.
Me too. I have been in pain management for several months and can’t picture myself going to pain management every month for the rest of my life. Not to mention, that the pain relief I get isn’t that great and it cost a small fortune.
Please ping me with the opinion of your doctor. I am thinking about asking my doctor too. I am seeing a pain management doctor and a neurosurgeon (hoping to have surgery soon). I’m on morphine and oxicodone with very little relief. Was on Celabrex until July when I had a stroke, which I think was caused by the Celabrex. Seems as if the pain increased 10 fold since the stroke.
When H.H. was struggling to find financing. I'm not using "listing on a backwater stock exchange" (which is basically irrelevant)....I'm comparing "startup" to "Fortune 500". If you prefer more modern examples....Apple Computer and Hewlett-Packard.
There are lot of big successful companies that started in a basement, a garage, or a dorm room, but by the time they became public they were a decent size and grew rapidly. They didn't just sit there at ten cents a share for several years.
Will do.
Of the many things I have tried over the last quarter century yoga has given me the most relief. After that analgesic patches, like SalonPas, have been good for easing the pain and allowing muscles in spasm to loosen up. I never had a specific injury or ruptured or even compressed discs just unrelenting muscle spasms.
Good grief, pandy. I hope he isn’t seriously hurt. The loss of one of your vehicles is going to be hard on all of you.
Yup looks like the HD is going to be sold. Sure aren’t selling MY horses lol. I feel badly, that is a classic 67 panshovel. But he can find another one. Maybe this will give him that push he so needs.
