Hello. You dont know me under this name. For reasons that are going to be obvious soon, I didnt wish to send you this message with my usual Free Republic account. This message is an invitation, a welcome to a new forum called TrueBlueFreedom.com
While I love the people who make up Free Republic, I have many complaints about Jim Robinson and his cronies who run the actual website. Over and over again, whenever somebody has complained or offered suggestions, they have been told by JimRob and others to go and start their own website if they know so much. Well, Ive decided to take them up on that offer.
Ive started TrueBlueFreedom.com for three simple reasons, and once youve read those reasons, Im sure youll agree that we need to make a few adjustments if we want this powerful bastion of conservatism to remain. The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to left in the hands of JimRob. Jim and his son John have repeated stated that if just one Freepathon goal isnt met, thats it - Free Republic will be dead. I cant stand the idea of America without Free Republic. Imagine if we hadnt been there when Dan Rather was passing around his forgeries, how different things would be today. Now realize that, as things are going, we wont be around when the next Rathergate happens. We cant allow that to happen, and since JimRob has publicly refused to deal with this issue, we have to take matters into our own hands. My solution is TrueBlueFreedom.com
The second reason is that I believe that free market capitalism has made America great, and that attempting any other system will lead us to ruin. A belief JimRob apparently doesnt share, since he continues to refuse to place ads on Free Republic and instead depend on a PBS-esque donation system. We are not NPR, and we are not a charity why do we raise money like one? For this reason, Ive developed TrueBlueFreedom.com to depend on advertisements. TrueBlueFreedom.com will not depend on donations, instead, we will depend on the opportunities provided by the free market to create a self-sustaining version of Free Republic without the constant Freepathons.
The third reason is that JimRob is, in my opinion, a petty tyrant. How many of you know somebody who was purged? How many wonder if you may be next on the list? If youre neither of these people, consider this: Giuliani was Americas Mayor in 2008. That didnt stop JimRob from purging all his supporters without warning. How do you know that whoever you support in the Republican primaries wont raise JimRobs wrath? How do you know the next purge group wont be Mormons, Jews, Birthers, Pro-Palin, Anti-Palin, and so on? I believe that purging the non-believers and demanding total mental agreement with the Dear Leader is the exact opposite of conservative values, regardless of where JimRob stands on abortion and homosexuality. And for that reason, Ive set up TrueBlueFreedom.com as a place where conservatives who follow the rules will not be banned, no matter how much I disagree with them. Regardless of your politics, religion, or favorite sport team, you will only be banned for breaking the rules. TrueBlueFreedom.com is a purge-free zone.
So, I hope youve read all this, and will accept my invitation. If this seems like something you can believe in, come to TrueBlueFreedom.com, sign up, and start talking. And if you like it, spread the word. Because Free Republic is too important to just let die.
Did not read through this lengthy thread, but its ok with me if you purge the birthers :)
Woo hoo!! Now over FORTY percent!! Thank you all very much!!
Thank you very much, Responsibility2nd!!
“The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to left in the hands of JimRob.”
This statement tells me all I need to know. True lib-logic.
God Bless Free Republic and those who run and frequent it.
For the record, we had a Mayor in the nearest town who would have contested Mr. Guiliani's jurisdiction, handily, at dawn, etc...
I like Free Republic just fine, and really appreciate both the site, the members, and the job you guys do running it. Thanks, Jim, now and in the future, for a job well done!
I wasn't worth courting by her, so I don't have a clue.
Thats fine. Just dont ask me to support murdering babies, homosexualizing our children or our society, grabbing our guns, ignoring our constitution and the limits on government, turning our backs on God, etc. Ill be happy to join any powerhouse coalition of conservative patriots. Oh, wait. I already have. Its call the Tea Party!!
Consider: FR has had a short-term cash crunch as detailed by Jim Robinson here and here.
This clown's proposed solution? "Hey, everybody, start posting and reading over on *THIS OTHER SITE* instead."
Thank you, Mr. Sunstein.
And Jim, in all seriousness, thanks again for all you do.
For the rest of you who AREN'T regular donors: couldn't almost *anyone* chip in $20 a month? That's one trip to the vending machine for a (brand name) soft drink a day. Save the calories, spend it on FR instead.
Cheers!
Gee, this is a knew idea, LOL.
Charlie Mike, Jim Rob. FReep on.
I love that graphic.
I think we all know how this is going to turn out...
“The site isnt even up!”
LOL: She wants to generate a capitalistic “buzz” -— a real hunger and demand for an alternative to FR! lol; lol; lol.
Why is it so critical we all abandon FR?
THREE MAIN COMPLAINTS:
1) “The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to [be] left in the hands of JimRob.”
Translation: The MAN who has deftly commanded the helm of the most unique, priceless, and factually informative grassroots website since the invention of the internet is SUDDENLY too incapable of carrying on.
SO....what is the answer to this grandiose and unsubstantiated accusation? Ms Blog-Pimp will attempt to start FR-lite. lol; lol; lol.
2)”JR doesn’t believe in capitalism, since he refuses to solicit ads to pay for his expenses.”
Another guffaw: Has JR ever spared bandwidth to voice his personal opinions on the degenerate alternatives to capitalism?
More specifically to answer the charge, JR is one step (quantum leap) ahead of the neophyte accuser:
JR QUOTE: “Now we could go commercial. We could sell ads. We could sell subscriptions or memberships, We could sell t-shirts and hats. But the moment we do, we invite scrutiny and copyright lawsuits. Before going commercial we would have to scrub our archives of any possible copyright violations.
And wed have to tighten up our current operations to make sure no one posts anything that could get us into trouble with any publisher of stories, photos, images, etc. And with sharks like Righthaven swimming around, there will always be room for trouble.
And going commercial still wouldnt guarantee enough income to build and maintain a paid staff, bullet proof software, redundant systems, etc.”

3) “JR is a petty tyrant. How many of you know somebody who was purged?”
Translation: Like a good householder, JR knows when to put out the trash.
On the rare occasion FR has thrown out something worthwhile, JR has had the foresight and humility to reconsider and bring it back into the house.

My feelers are hurt that I wasn’t worthy of an invite...NOT!
Yeah, but if you change anything, how the heck are we supposed to FReep on autopilot?
I’d hate that as much as when the local grocery store rearranges all its shelves and I can’t find anything any more.
McLame thought he was picking the worst possible VP ever.
Somebody needs to tell Sarah she was a pig date to his prom.
She doesn't owe him one tenth the common courtesy she has shown him so far.
There were posters on that thread that voiced the same sentiments that are in the freepmail.
It's interesting that you would be fine with purging people who care relentlessly about the integrity of the US Constitution.
Are you lazy, or just a coward?
I wish there was a Freeper store link where one could purchase t-shirts or hats with the Free Republic brand, and maybe some FUBO bumper stickers. That could help with the funding maybe.
Yeah, he said it was pretty bold talk for a one-legged fat man. That's when I took my reins in my teeth and shouted, fill your hands you sun of a beach!
