SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. - A Lee County deputy goes in a woman's yard, and ends up facing off with a family pet. He shot the dog twice, and now the owner is furious, demanding answers, saying her dog did nothing wrong.
Christine Bonelli was inside her San Carlos Park home Thursday afternoon when she heard two shots. "First I thought it was fireworks and said no, that's gunshots I think," Bonelli said.
She stepped outside to find two deputies and her Foxhound Mix "Harley" with gunshot wounds. "Blood was coming out of his shoulder and on his leg, coming out of his mouth," Bonelli said.
A neighbor tells WINK News he warned deputies that Harley was in the fenced-in backyard, but they continued on. "They said he was in the chair when he came in the yard, and he came running and barking at them, protecting his property, he didn't bite them, he might have shown teeth, but they shot him twice," Bonelli said.

>>At some point, one of these idiots will shoot the wrong guys dog, and pay for it with their lives.<<
If I’m on the jury, he’ll walk free and I’ll give the dogs owner $25K after taxes and lawyers fees of the taxpayers money. Maybe they’ll get smart enough to fire the Mayor and his Police Chief.
That’s ridiculous. That is NOT a pit bull.
Sue them.

Looking at wrong animal. Has a wound to the bottom of his jaw.
“DRT” ???
Fixed it. ;)
Just teasing. I'm not saying we're Nazi Germany. But geez, look how far we've fallen in a generation. We're by far, the most imprisoned nation on the planet. We're all terrified of committing some offense we don't even know about. Look @ the airport. Now, our President claims the authority to declare American citizens "enemies" and have them summarily killed. And it barely raises an eyelash among the sheeple! I'd say that's pretty much "game over" for our Constitutional protections.
Should happen alot more often, to alot of 2 legged critters......
and likely to be 'getting their bones' in the gang...
“The frog is boiled. “
Just repeating in case this was lost in the thread.
No.
Right..and let me get this straight..cops can open a gate and shoot a barking dog and it’s not animal cruelty and TSA can grope and it’s not sexual battery. Hmmmm....
It is not one of the pitbull breeds, it is a foxhound mix.
You are welcome to provide objective evidence demonstrating the existence of any percentage of American Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the dog, since you are making the claim.
Claiming that a dog is a pitbull is like claiming a dog is a spitz-—both are words used to describe types of dogs, not breeds of dogs, and only those ignorant of canines use either “spitz” or “pitbull” in reference to breed.
The cops said it was a pit bull and the picture of the dog with the bullet hole is a pit bull. Period!
Apparently so. But remember, if YOU shoot a policedog, it’s murder of a police officer.
Shooting the patricians’ dogs, bad; shooting the plebians’ dogs, good, according to the police officers who have abandoned Sir. Robert Peel’s principles.
Assertions are not evidence, and repetition of ignorance is not fact. Your intellectual dishonesty continues to be unsurprising.
The cops illegally, without warrant, entered the yard of the homeowner and illegally, without just cause, shot her dog. A witness overheard them discussing how they were going to explain the case.
If these cops were telling the truth, would they need to discuss how they were going to explain it to the public?
Are the cops experts in ascertaining dog breeds with no self-interest in covering their respective arses and capable of documenting that claim with evidence?
Are you capable of correctly identifying the American Staffordshire Bull Terrier among these breeds?

Show us evidence that we are looking at an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier that does not stem from your imagination or the claims of those caught engaging in illegal activity.
You would think that such things would be pounded into their heads at the police academy; but common sense is becoming increasingly uncommon.
