Piece by piece we lose our freedom.
Right now, law enforcement officials have no idea who buys handgun ammunition in California or how much
So what?
created hundreds of jobs in Chinatown
Time to reallocate my funds.
So... What exactly IS “handgun ammunition” in their definition?
Any round that CAN be fired from a handgun? I guess the owners of .22 rifles are screwed. People that own carbines would already be screwed, because they are dumb enough to live in CA in the first place.
Right now, law enforcement officials have no idea who buys handgun ammunition in California or how much. Also, Californians will no longer be allowed to receive handgun ammunition directly through the Internet or by mail order.”
There is no way I would ever live in CA at this point in time. They are so screwed it’s unbelievable.
Criminals will just buy it elsewhere. A useless law that impacts regular law-abiding folks.
Assembly Bill 962 becomes law Feb. 1, 2011. Cabellas.com orders need to be placed by Jan. 21 and delivered by Jan. 31. After that, no more catalog sales to California. Stupid law.
Makes sense to me. /s (as if I needed to add that)...
Cabelas opened a store just across the Nevada state line west of Reno.
Scheels opened one in Sparks, just east of Reno.
I’m pretty sure there is a Cabelas in Phoenix too.
No paperwork outside Kali.
Anyone who can drive a relatively short distance (Kali. is long, but not that wide) will be able to buy all the ammo they want without the Kali. Gov. looking over their shoulder.
All this will really do is hurt Kali gun/sporting goods shops (The real goal) and Kali. sales taxes. (The unintended side effect all the counties will feel)
It will have zero effect on crime.
ty for this post FRiend, now to the post content
“law enforcement officials have no idea who buys handgun ammunition in California or how much.”
BULLS**T
Any firearm or rifle sold at FFL is FED registered...
and ammo... screw you, its none of your damn business.
in point of fact, I will let you know I bought lots of things in the great state of CA.
And it is Still no-one business what the heck I brought
Freedom is held by one drawing breath, do not be the second last drawing breath, as your the one who has lost your freedom
EL
The Granola state strikes again!
Is 22LR handgun ammo or not?
How do the new laws impact reloading components? I expect, given the already large number of FFLs who refuse to do business with Californians, that there will come a time when nearly everybody decides to close the door.
People in Californistan will simply drive into AZ, pick up their ammo and go home. The law will defeat its intended purpose. CA’s anti-gun Democrats never learn.
Makes me wonder if it’ll be legal for Indians to sell ammo to the white-eyes on their reservations. They already sell heap big smokes and plenty of casino firewater. If so, what a role-reversal that would be!
Cheaperthandirt.com reported this the other day - they were going to cease Ca sales and made a point to indicate they would no longer be accepting Ca. ammo purchases from law enforcement as well
Another reason this law is stupid is criminals steal ammo or they will have straw buyers purchase the goods - either in CA or out of state. It will have zero effect on crime and it won’t help law enforcement to track how handgun ammo is used in crimes.
All it will do is inconvenience law-abiding citizens and they would rather not deal with CA’s paperwork hassle and purchasing restrictions. They will as I observed go elsewhere to get what they need and CA’s stupid state Justice Department and local law enforcement officials will be none be the wiser.
The thrust of the law is to make it easier for police to investigate or prevent gun crimes by tracking bullet purchases by those already barred from possessing guns, such as felons, those convicted of firearms-related misdemeanors or members of criminal street gangs under court injunction.
Lies,lies,lies!
“Misdemeanors” that are fire arm related.Where did this come from?Has the bar been lowered to this from felonies?
