This guy is coming out of Michigan—a blue and dysfunctional state. Exactly what are his credentials anyway. All I got from the Texas announcement was the usual politic speak.

Anybody from Michigan out there who has some sense of the man?

.... one that voted a Republican for Gov, and voted in a lot of new Republicans in the statehouse and Congress.

ANuzis would make a good RNC chair. The Texas delegation picked well.

more of a grass roots tea party type of guy. Very into twitter and facebook......very good at raising money and using media to promote results. He is a bit of a nerd but a solid guy.

The MI GOP did well this last election - not as great as the WI GOP did, but they did well.

Just sayin’.

Support from a strong GOP state like TX is meaningful. I don’t know if this is the best person or not, but being in or from MI should not be held against him considering how well they did last year. If this guy has connections to raise the money and he’s a strong conservative, I see no reason to not take a serious look at him.

FWIW, I’m tired of hearing Steele get beaten on. He may not be the best chairman we’ve ever had and he spent too much time in the spotlight and made a few gaffes, but he raised a lot of money and pushed hard through an important election - probably the most important election since 1980. The results were pretty good.

I think it’s time for a change, but I wish folks would lighten up on Steele. He’s basically a good, decent man who did his best.

On another topic that’s sort of related, can’t pubs be a little nicer to each other? I’m not doing a Rodney King moment (”Can’t we all just get along?”), but I’d sure like to see pubs speak to and of each other just a little more kindly with a little bit of humor and compassion. Don’t the rats and the media crap on us, lie and beat on us enough? The GOP leadership must have its wishy-washy feet held to the fire, but can we do it without using a real, live, lit blowtorch?

United we stand, divided we fall. After the way the left acted toward us about the Tucson shootings, it should be obvious to all that they don’t need a helping hand from us in bashing us.

Let’s wise up. The conservative movement doesn’t have to capitulate in order to make significant inroads in moving the leadership in the ‘right’ direction without alienating them.

Sorry to go on, but I sort of used your post to express some thoughts I’ve had since November by making a broad reply.

Happy New Year! :)

Saul Anuzis is himself a RINO but he does know when to step out of the way and let the people choose a candidate and then support the candidate chosen.

He did support Fred Upton but he also supported Tim Walberg who is as conservative as you’ll find anywhere.
