OAKLAND -- The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has decided not to file charges against Oakland City Councilmember Ignacio De La Fuente for drunken driving, claiming there was not enough evidence to pursue criminal charges.
De La Fuente was arrested and booked into jail last month by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence. The CHP said at the time that De La Fuente was driving erratically and failed a sobriety test.
We will bring you updates as more information becomes available.
What a sad joke Oakland has become.
Of course this alone was not enough to justify pursuing a DUI charge, as it would undoubtedly have been if, say, Sarah Palin had been behind the wheel.
For a 'regular person', that is enough evidence to bring DUI charges -- but for member of the 'elected elite' it is, apparently, not.
This alone is enough to file charges anywhere in the US. It is the job of the court system to find out if it is proper or not, not some crony Rat DA.
Apparently the same line in the piece stood out to both of us as BS.
Party affiliation not mentioned and charges not pursued...obviously a Dimbulb.
His kid's a rapist, he's a drunk, and additionally an international criminal who not only gets away with his routine crimes, but elected to make laws in the United States.
And everyone in the East wonders why us remaining Americans in the West are so upset over the whole thing.
What’s next for the Politicians Diplomatic immunity?
Ridiculous
In California—what else is there
There are lots of good folks in CA, not necessarily in Alameda Co...
Well of course there are I live here. :) My comment was really geared toward the Democratically controlled Legislature and local politicans I should have been more clear.
My condolences to all freepers living in those CA counties
run by the democrat criminal conspiracy.
This legal precedent will get many children killed.
What a sad joke Oakland has become. No foolin'! This is the city that rejected Don peRATa for Jean "Ebonics" Quan.
