Former Iranian hostage Barry Rosen touched down on an American tarmac 30 years ago and spilled into the arms of a wife and two young children lost to him during 444 days of captivity. Then came the exhilarating bus ride to West Point along a route lined with yellow ribbons and thousands of cheering people, waving and chanting, "USA! USA!"

Did they invite any of the veterans or relatives of the men who died trying to rescue them?

Thank you President Reagan for being the impetus of their freedom.
Will they get T-shirts?
My family and I were among the crowds as they drove onto the Reservation headed toward the Thayer Hotel. The hostages had been released the moment President Reagan was sworn in and a few days later they drove by the crowds of staff, faculty and cadets in their buses. We felt the oppressive weight of shame, humiliation, and malaise lifted from our shoulders and were once again proud to be Americans and proud to be serving our President. One hopes that another day like that is coming in two years time.
