Several 2012 presidential hopefuls will address House Republican lawmakers at their annual retreat this weekend.

President Obama wasn't invited.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) are among a handful of Republicans set to address House GOP lawmakers at their annual retreat this weekend.

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Texas Gov. Rick Perry also are included on the list of speakers scheduled for the three-day retreat in Baltimore, Md., set to begin Jan. 13.

I guess they didn’t get the memo. Who our next president will be was settled this morning with Sarah’s video.

Sounds boring. None of those mentioned are good candidates. Gingridge, Perry, Barbour all have negatives that they bring to the table. I even forgot the four one who will be there and I just read the thing. Nobody is sticking out that is for sure.

I like Bob, but he is likely just a speaker.

Oh yeah Bob McDonald. He is the governor from Virginia who was elected in 2008. I would like him to finish out the great job he is doing and possibly do one more term and then run for President. I have no idea if age is a factor or if he can’t wait four years than I guess he best run this time.

Why would Obama be invited to this in the first place and why is it worth mentioning that he was not invited?

Don’t you remember last year, when the Republicans invited him to talk about healthcare, and he took over the meeting? MSNBC etc. replayed it for weeks, touting his success in “making the Republicans look foolish.”

No, don’t recall that but I pretty much ignore anything Obama says. That does give some background though - thanks!
