Do you think he meant any of these metaphorically? The first one is a quote from “The Untouchables.” But yes, they are all using violent imagery.

I never said that Liberals haven’t employed violent imagery. I was just so tired this past week of all the obvious hatred - between citizens of the same nation - that I was begging for a bit of mercy. I don’t expect Liberals to stop it. They can’t help fixating on the comments that they see as threatening.

They sound scared of the Right all the time, as if we want our guns so we can hunt them down. They are afraid of being put into camps. I don’t know if you visit any Liberal sites. I can’t stand DU, but often read Kos, and those guys are scared of *us*.

I read their stuff because I try to understand where my neighbors and clients are coming from. I live in a very mixed environment, and don’t want to hate them. They seem like basically decent people who have different opinions about the role of government. They don’t see things like the EPA as evil, because they think it’s doing good things for them. What can I tell them? Sometimes we discuss things; they always seem to have facts and references that I find interesting to research, because I haven’t heard them before. And I have *never* felt like any of them wanted to crush or eliminate me - they are often quite interested themselves in a Conservative who will debate with them, instead of calling them names like “idiot” and “moron.”

Anyway, I was wondering if maybe we ourselves were fixating too much on *their* language. It just sounded so much like the mirror image of what I’d heard during my phonecalls to clients during Monday and Tuesday - when it was three different people, Liberal and “Independent,” who were frightened by the shootings of a Democratic Representative and her supporters. They saw what they perceived as violent rhetoric from people on the Right like Beck and even Palin. When the statements from the Left are put in a list like yours, they sound horrible. But the rest of the country doesn’t hear them in a list - those statements were all made at individual meetings people in NJ didn’t hear about. They never hear them.

But they hear everything from Sarah, because she commands such air time. So they all are aware of her every utterance. That’s what they remember- the coverage that her “bullseye” map got - not some speech Obama gave to a meeting that never got national coverage, or that map that Kos put on his website two years ago. (Hell, I don’t even know if they know who Kos is.)

Where do you live, that you never have to work or deal with Liberals, as I do?
