"...I think she needs a Press Secretary or spokesman or someone of that nature."

You mean, you think she needs someone to follow her and tell us what Gov. Palin really said.

I think that Gov. Palin is fine the way she is precisely because she doesn't speak the language of the elites. Why does everything have to be 'nuanced' and 'spun' for consumption of the masses?

The American people are smarter than you give them credit for.

Not to tell her what to say, but just someone who can look things over and offer advice.

For example, all this media coverage of the blood libel phrase doesn’t do her any good. It only distracts from eveything else she had to say. The media will just focus on that and ignore everything else.

So, if she had someone who could look things over and say “good, but I’d probably change that blood libel phrase, it could be taken the wrong way, it has other meanings that the media will be sure to latch onto. Just use libel.”

Or someone who may have looked at that map and said “maybe using a different symbol would be better, the media and others will be sure to portray this in the worst possible light”.

That would have been fine with me, and probably better for her.

Every public figure has someone like that. People who go over things, who edit them, etc... Bush had tons of speechwriters and press scys. So does Obama.

Like you, I like that she’s authentic and doens’t have all these handlers, but having a press scy or pr person is perfectly normal.
