Got into an argument with someone on FB about people successfully defending themselves with guns. HE doesn’t know of anyone who has done that, therefore it never happens. Good for her. Liberals want to limit constitutional free speech, well why not open libel laws to protect public figures.

FWIW, my brother scoffs at the notion that guns have ever proven useful in matters of self-defense. He often says, "You never hear of anyone saying "Thank goodness I had my gun with me!' No, no. People with guns just shoot themselves or their kids. I don't know why anyone would own one."

I've shown him clippings of story after story of people protecting themselves and others, with proper use of firearms. It just doesn't register with him.

I got into an argument with my brother-in-law about the same thing. I told him most of the people in Texas are law-abiding gun owners. You never hear about a massacre there. You just can't reason with liberals. They are just stupid and cannot deal in facts.
