get rid of this guy.

this guy is trying to say that Governor Palin is anti semetic.

Nonsense. If I wanted to say that Palin is anti-semetic I would have. I did say and will repeat that imo the use of blood libel was ill-advised to the point of being stupid. It has given her opponents a pivot point upon which to turn the debate back against her. Please explain the wisdom in that.

I’m not Jewish and I felt blood libeled even before there was any mention of the term in the media.

You said

“How about damned stupid. The term blood libel has always been a clear indictment of Jews by Christians. It has never had any other meaning in common use.” in post 37.

and then you said

“Maybe I’m more aware of its strictly anti-semetic meaning because I grew up in a pretty Jewish neighborhood. It is an arcane phrase which makes palin’s use of it even more baffling. “ in post 50.

So by stating the term is “strictly anti-semantic” you are inferring Palin is anti-semantic. Words have meanings but much of communication goes beyond the words. While condemning Palin over those two little words and ignoring everything else you are showing your agenda.

Perhaps your words from post 50 “If it is her intention to escalate then she has succeeded but one would ask why? “ should lead us to ask you Why?

If Palin said the sky is blue, they would find reasons to find fault with it.

That said, if the media goes back to the ‘historic’ views of the term, seeing/hearing them defend Israel would be a nice change. Are they even capable of that?

At some point, you’re going to have to stop being afraid of the mainstream media and trust that people will understand what she is saying here. It’s perfectly clear from context what’s meant and it has the added bonus of being true.

You may be right that the term is 'risky'. As well, the statement was risky. Sticking ones neck out is risky. Confronting the left head on is risky... What some may call stupid and risky other call leadership.

Where are the establishment RINOs? Where is Romney? They hide like wimps still... Palin waited until the time was right and she delivered. The RINOs -those oh so wise, measured and calculated are but spineless WIMPS.
