...But a look through Dupnik's past reveals a much more complex figure than his current portrayal as a liberal Democratic crusader. Dupnik first joined the Tucson Police Department in 1958, was appointed sheriff of Pima County in 1980, and has won re-election ever since. Perpetually over-tasked and under-resourced, Dupnik's force has the near-impossible job of dealing with not just the usual case load, but also the continuous flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico. In 1981, Dupnik sent a message to all residents: Arm yourselves...
Arpaio and Dupnik disagree over whether local law enforcement should be responsible for fighting illegal immigration. But their differences aren't as stark as you'd think. After all, you don't get re-elected sheriff seven times by being soft on "illegals" (Dupnik's term). In 2007, Dupnik raised the hackles of immigration activists when he proposed to have federal agents work alongside his own border crimes unit...

You sure do if the illegals and their allies do most of the voting. 23% of Pima county residents don’t even know English. Anyone who won’t learn English has made it clear their allegiance is to Mexico, even if they happen to have been born here.

Yeah, and I’m sure the author can find an instance from 1982 when he slipped up and used that word.
You nailed it. The ONLY way you’ll get elected in Pima County is by being “soft” on illegal aliens.
Funny how they don't mention his involvement in a mine strike back in 1983. He was sued for civil rights violations, and a jury awarded the plaintiffs over $200,000 in damages. It seems that Sheriff Dipstick conspired with the mine owners and wrongfully arrested and locked up some union activists on trumped up charges, while overlooking the crimes of the mine owners and the non-union workers that were brought in to break the strike.

JUST DOUBLE-CHECKED:
Yup, in scarlet-red Arizona, Pima County voted for Obama for President, and Terry Goddard for Governor. Like Hell you don’t get elected by being soft on illegals. PIMA COUNTY’S OTHER REPRESENTATIVE IS RAUL GRIJALVA, a real, honest-to-goodness MEXICAN RECONQUISTA!!!
Dupas-nik is a wannabe.
If it can be reasonably proven that his office ignored legitimate requests for action on Loughner, dimwit’s time in the spotlight won’t be long.
I’m sure by now that the mine is operated mostly by illegals making $2.00 an hour. Gee, I wonder why Commissar Dupenik loves illegal aliens so much.
Leftists are nothing if not utilitarian. Just like former Nazis were "shod with new shoes" (Solzhenitsyn's phrase) in East German and accepted as good Communists, just as Robert Byrd's Ku Klux Klan past was universally unmentioned on the Left, Dupnik's new legion of fans will dump this little event into the memory hole.
No he isn’t. He is not even half the man Sheriff Joe is.
Clarence Dupnik, the new hero of the Left. Go Get ‘Em, Clarence! Support our untruthful BS!
Someone ought to give Dupenik a fruit cup and then take him to his room for a nap.
Thank you for checking. Good lord. A blue county in Arizona. :(
