Call me crazy but I don’t think this is an awful law... Sure 1000 feet might be a but much (1-5 hundred maybe)..

I don’t want congress critters to start driving around in popemobiles. I like going to town halls and yelling at them but I would like to avoid feeling like I have to go through airport security to get in.

I think if it’s a publicized event then its reasonable. If you want your gun don’t go to the event!

Now I would not want the fed to do this but would have zero trouble with a state implimenting it.

OK, you're crazy.

If you want your gun don’t go to the event!

And that's the kind of thinking that gets filed with the "if you don't like having naked pics taken of your children, then don't fly". Just keep bleating while they continue to chip away at rights that used be protected by our Constitution.

Since there is already laws against shooting people, why do you think this one would make them safer?

And why elevate the safety of lawmakers above those of citizens?

Crazy!

Second Amendment arguments aside, there's a major problem.

I do work in Brighton. It's the hometown of Mike Rogers, a congressman. If I'm going into town, there's a possibility I'll run into Rogers without knowing he'll be there. I'll be breaking the law and not know it. Felony.

If I get a felony, I lose my job and license.
