Several leading House Democrats blamed the inflammatory rhetoric for contributing to the Tucson massacre, while Republicans denounced criticism of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) following the tragedy.
One lawmaker, Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.), has said he would introduce a bill to make it a crime to threaten or incite violence against a federal official.
Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) suggested the Federal Communications Commission was not working anymore, adding she would look at ways to better police language on the airwaves. A brick was thrown through a window of Slaughters district office last year.

Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) urged Republicans to change the name of the repeal bill, which is titled the Repeal the Job-Killing Healthcare Law Act. Im not suggesting that the name of that one piece of legislation somehow led to the horror of this weekend but is it really necessary to put the word killing in the title of a major piece of legislation? Pingree wrote on The Huffington Post website.

They seem to have forgotten that they are no longer the majority.
Bet the kid had 50 violent videos at home....
Don't you know the difference? Free expression in art is protected by our constitution.
One lawmaker, Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.), has said he would introduce a bill to make it a crime to threaten or incite violence against a federal official.
Robert Brady
(Dummy, PA)
Amendment 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
And genius, whose to determine what 'incite violence' means / constitutes?
Or is it something as simple as my Tagline?
and last but not least.....
'Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.'
That happens to be a quote from Mark Twain. Soooooo BOB, should we burn all his 'violence inciting' books? I sure hope not as that quote seems to fit YOU to a tee!
And here's a free clue Bob --- Almost ANYTHING spoken or written can 'incite violence' by a CRAZY PERSON. Even saying 'Hello', or 'Good Morning'.
#@$% *&@* $%#@ idiot!
Malignant political correctness, and the usual Democrat lowest common denominator response, i.e.:
If someone somewhere eats too much salt, ban all salt.
If someone somewhere misuses a firearm, ban all firearms.
If someone somewhere has a fat child eating a Happy Meal, ban all Happy Meals.
If someone somewhere says something “incendiary” (as defined by effete, metrosexual Democrats), ban all “incendiary” speech.
Nothing screams TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP better than Democrat responses to any perceived “crisis” ...
Isn't it already a crime to communicate a threat against someone . . .anyone . . .like one of us regular folks? I thought so. No need for a special bill - it is already illegal.
Hey, hey . . that was art. Dunchaknow that art is okay? We must strive to understand what the artist is telling us. //extreme sarc//
Slaughter has violent connotations.
Perhaps she should changed her name to
Louise Butterflies-Fly-Out-My-Butt-on-a-Warm-Spring-Day.
Oh. Did you allow for windage? ;-)
Exactly what is needed, more political correctness. If we try hard enough we can sanitize our society into perfection but there will be a serious question. Whose idea of perfection will be adopted? I don’t believe people like this “lawmaker”
are the models I wish to choose. It is painfully obvious this man has not thought, in any serious way, about what he is suggesting. He comes from the (wouldn’t it be nice if everyone thought the way I do) school of thought or should I say school of non thought. How can you be a proponent of a free society and free speech and make such claims. Obviously you cannot.
What a great analogy! I have always wondered why i get so pi—ed off when someone cuts me off, etc. Now i know. Brilliant.
That’s OK as long as the libs do it.
...so somehow banning speech they disagree with will end political assassinations?
NObama said : If they bring a knife—we bring a gun.
The loudest comments that are out of line are from the Liberals.
The Supreme Court is going to be a very busy place for a few years.
Notice to the elitist politicians: THE BILL OF RIGHTS...THE FIRST AMENDMENT...THE CONSTITUTION
“...or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press,...”
Regrettably, I forgot about that so-called “art” as described by the Left and their often idiotic Liberal friends.
I agree. I think we should break away from them IN PEACE and they can have Obama in Ca.
