Hetrosexuals have already done more to destroy the institution of marriage than they probably realize.

If the plan calls for something akin to the Earned Income Tax Credit for married Fathers, count me in.

I seem to recall a Monty Python sketch on this subject. Can anybody find it?

I’d make out if we had a “sex tax”. Because I don’t “make out.”

Or something.

The title suggests this is a satire. But, I have always stated that sexual promiscuity is the most expensive and irresponsible “sin” in the country. It drives up welfare costs and medical costs, and often shortens people’s lives as well. Children live in more poverty and abusive homes. Women eventually look for another man and often do not use much discretion in the process, and the whole situation repeats itself over and over again.

I would feel better if this article had been from someone other than Charles Colson. Not because I do not like him, on the contrary. It’s just that I would expect Charles Colson to have this much sense, so it is not a big breakthrough. Just my humble opinion.

I suppose I’d be “married filing separately”...if you know what I mean.

Easy remedy:

No welfare unless a JOB IS LOST.

After teaching in Jackson, Mississippi for 4 years, the only way to break the “bastard child” cycle (single parents having children who becomes single parents) is to REMOVE THE FINANCIAL BENEFIT TO BECOMING PREGNANT.

Why would a girl EVEN CONSIDER graduating high school, getting married, and living a self-supported life when the government will pay you not to? Cut all benefits for current single parents in 3 years, offer GED and community college programs in exchange, and you’ll be surprised what a person will do to support her/himself.

On a personal note, I’ve actually talked to a high school junior that was 6 months pregnant and said to her: Do you love the father of the child?

Yeah...

Are you still together?

Yeah...

Are you going to get married?

(Gives me a look like I just sprouted two antennae from my forehead)

Because that innocent child deserves a family.

No, she deserves me.

Well, she’s gonna wonder where her father is...

Oh, he’ll be around.

Then he won’t be a father.

(Huff) Well, I guess!

The solution to this is obvious: quit bailing out people that screw up their lives. Also quit spending money on efforts to “educate” people on how to be moral.

You don’t need to tax sex.. you shouldn’t subsidize it.
