Just how bad is this eruption???

The earlier explosion of Krakatau, literally blew the island apart, leaving a few of the now smaller surrounding bits of land as remnants. The lareg body of water is the sunken caldera of the volcano, as it collapsed into the ocean. As the site is a geological “hot spot” the earth’s mantle started to rebuild..the new island..Anak Krakatau, is the new volcano rising from the ocean floor. If it erupts with the same intensity as the earlir one..well..no one really knows....there was global winter in Europe..and the ash cloud circled the globe. Immediately, you could see a near total shut-down of trans-Pacific aviation...

This isn’t a big eruption. 1800 foot high ash cloud isn’t very big. Probably more precautionary than anything else, it has been leading up to a larger eruption for the past several months now. Not much else available to me at the moment. BTW, they are worried about the coffee crop.
