What were the local authorities doing? The college only suspended him after he called them "unconstitutional" on a YouTube video, not because he was terrorizing fellow students and teachers. It also has been reported that Jared Loughner made death threats. Where was the sheriff? Can those in that police department shed some light on this? It certainly calls for an investigation.

I wish I knew, it seems like there's a bigger effort to district and conceal evidence rather than pursue how this all came about. I think the Sheriff's neck deep in trouble, there's no way they can conceal all of their screw-ups.

Tucson is pretty liberal. They are paying the price for their stupidity now, and a lot of innocent people are suffering for it. I really hope they can turn things around, this was the worst possible scenario for a "rude awakening".

The sheriff needs to resign NOW.
