The college was more proactive in following the kid than the sheriff.

Most states have an invol hold. One has to have imminent danger to enforce it.

While the college followed their own protocols with respect to discipline, this piece smells like CYA for the school written by their lawyers. Personally, I’d like to know what communications, if any were had between PCC and Dupanik. The school washed their hands of the shooter, but where was the followup by the sheriff? The fact that this guy has been able to be Pima Co. sheriff for 30 years says volumes about the good folks in Tucson and surounds. He isn’t any Joe Arpaio, that’s for sure.
