Yet another attempt by the Muslim Marxist and his thugs to control the flow of information on the Internet, and interfere with our lives. These people have no boundaries.

Some rocket scientist is going to have to explain to me how getting a government ID for use of the internet “enhances privacy” because I can’t figure it out. Why, it seems to me, silly me, that if you need your government ID to surf the web, that it traces you to all the sites you have visited, which would seem to reduce privacy, not increase it.

Surely the top complaint of Internet users right now is that they forgot their passwords and would like the government to fix this problem.KMA

I have a feeling that the same folks who went bananas when Bush tried to push the “Information Awareness” program will not be saying a blesed thing in response to this.

And, in less than a dozen years, when buying a Coke from a vending machine is done via a “secure internet ecosystem”, Uncle Sam will have the ability to track your every purchase.

Surely the top complaint of Internet users right now is that they forgot their passwords and would like the government to fix this problem. Um, no, this is not "surely" the top complaint of Internet users.
Second fail in this one sentence: there is not one single "problem" I have right now that I want the government to fix.
Well, I take that back. I have this big, obtrusive, liberty-stealing entity confiscating my property (income) and doing things with it I do not approve of, and over-reaching it's legal authority... Maybe the feds could do something about that.

What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy; reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords,
How on Earth is this a job for the Federal Government? I can already buy a little do-dad that confirms my internet identity using my fingerprint. Half the websites out there I can access through my Facebook or Google accounts.
