AZ Star: 'Person of interest' suspected shooter's cab driver

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - The man sought by the FBI and Pima County Sheriffs deputies as a "person of interest" turned out to be the suspect's cab driver, The Arizona Daily Star is reporting.

The man told detectives he gave Jared Loughner a ride to the shopping center where the shooting took place on Oracle and Ina roads.

The cab driver walked with Loughner into the Safeway store so the suspect could get cash to pay the fare, according to the Arizona Daily Star report.

Records substantiate the driver dropped Loughner off at 9:59 a.m., Kastigar said. Loughner was picked up nearby. The first report of a shooting came in 10:11 a.m. and paramedics were on scene at 10:16 a.m., Kastigar said.

FBI Director Robert Mueller said he expects federal charges to be filed Sunday afternoon against Loughner.

There's a possibility the charges may be related to domestic terrorism, Mueller said.

No. I am suggesting that Obama, who “never lets a crisis go to waste,” would use this attack from a random madman to try to dismantle the Tea Party. It would be “death by investigation.” Everyone who is prominent would be investigated by the U.S. Attorney to see if they were related to the murders. Perhaps they could get Christine O'Donnell or Sharron Angle to do the perp walk before national T.V.

I understand there is Federal jurisdiction, but it could be made into an anti-Tea Party fishing expedition.

BTW I had right away a feeling that it was just coincidental that he walked out of the store and had noting to do with the shooting

Yes, but I remember now! This guy should have been removed from his duties by now. He has completely trashed this investigation. The Feds just can’t be liking what this idiot is doing.

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik spoke out against Senate Bill 1070 Wednesday. The often outspoken Sheriff is not holding back when it comes to the law.

“I think it’s simply political fornickaboobery,” Dupnik said.

Whatever “fornickaboobery” means, Dupnik was quite clear in saying he does not like the law.
