Is it anything special for the US marxism?
Read Herbert Marcuse...he was from the Frankfurt School and in with Gramsci. They extended Marxist economic ideas into the culture. They combined Marxism with Freud which created a Freudian/cultural Marxism. Basically they use all the ideas of Freud but strip away all repression of any sexual instinct (they say all repression creates pathology) and they instill the egalitarianism of Marx—everyone is exactly the same. That makes people interchangeable and any relationship as mother and father etc. creates affections away from the devotion to the whole—the state. That is why Karl Marx loathed the family and Lenin made divorce easy and children were put into day cares early to destroy the attachment and loyalty.
In Marx, relatedness was evil because the affections then didn’t extend to the whole....only to particular people, a mother, father ,child which created inequities and also gave refuge where the state wanted to be the God and nanny. Families are formed because they align with Natural Law Theory—which has always connoted a Higher Power.
Russians are realizing the damage they did to the family structure. Aren’t they trying to pay their women to have babies now. I hear they are like all the pro=homosexual European nations and not reproducing.
Nihilism comes from no God. If you have no moral absolutes then “wrong” is what ever your leaders say it is. The Germans were aggressively Homosexual. The SA troops were virtually founded in a gay bar....Hitler was a sexual pervert although they can’t prove he was a homosexual, they do know when he was in his twenties he lived with a man in the homosexual sections of Germany. He also made laws condemning Homosexuality...but all for people support.....for all his chauffeurs remained homosexual as did a lot of his close friends and officers. The SA used to comb the high schools for boys for Roehm and Hitler put known pederasts in charge of the Hitler Youth.
Dostoevsky is one of my favorite authors, BTW. Of course, his writing got him sent to Siberia, I think.
When you base a culture on Godlessness, there is no hope and future. Life is always a struggle....you will never have a “utopia” on earth unless you make slaves of the masses and even then you will fail, because you will get sick and die.
You can never have egalitarianism....because all people are different. Marx’s vision, like Bloom said....is one of an ant colony, only all of the ants had lobotomies.
