Like what, getting shot in the head?
I have quite a few case histories of people who were shot or stabbed in the brain and survived so it is not all that unusual, especially since getting shot in the head and getting shot in the brain are not the same thing. The bullet could have gone through the sinus.
On a glancing shot the bullet will often ‘Bounce” off the skull, possibly causing a depressed skull fracture and bruising of the brain, but remain under the scalp and slide around under the skin. It can also penetrate the skull and get trapped between the very tough membrane covering the brain, the dura mater, and slide around next to the inside surface of the skull. It appears the bullet hit this women somewhere around the temple and exited around her forehead so I think it unlikely it took a direct route.
I am not an expert on the subject. It just sounded like a miracle to have brain surgery and suddenly be able to recognize people and respond..and apparently it isn’t true.
She is unconscious and brain swelling is a concern...so she still might not make it.
