Coming to a gas pump near you.
Even if you can't drink and drive, your car can.
A Virginia company is taking in truckloads of boozy caffeinated drinks, including Four Loko, and recycling the stuff into pure ethanol to be blended into gasoline.
A crackdown on the beverages is leading wholesalers to send the drinks from their warehouses to waste management companies for handling.
"Were at full capacity," Brian Potter, a VP for MXI Environmental Services, told the Associated Press. "There are about 30 different products involved, and weve only seen a couple of them at this point. It could go on for several months."
In November, the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission moved to get drinks combining caffeine and alcohol off store shelves.
I'm OK with the car getting the alcohol, but wonder if they could send some of the recycled caffeine my way.
Ethanol is a waste of resources and it destroys engines. We won’t put it in our vehicles. The sooner we get rid of this boondoggle, the better. It’s just a payoff from politicians to farmers. What a crock.
I agree and it seems like the government wants to wreck your car too so you will be forced to buy one of their toy jobs.
The government is lying through it’s teeth to the public.
Where does the government get off telling me I can’t mix alcohol and caffeine? Stay out of my freakin’ body!
Thats some nasty stuff. I bought some and tried it, had a can, and man, did that make me weird. A strange drunkeness, but with energy, so it sort of masked it. Made my stomach hurt too, more than normal. By my calculations, one can is roughly the equivalent of a regular American six pack of beer (non-ICE beer).
What’s inside alcoholic energy drinks?

I thought this was going to be a bootlegger thread where gasoline is processed to remove the ethanol that would become moonshine.
Vodka from gas is coming to a blackmarket near you.
