You may be able to beat the beast using Virtual Machine technology. I haven’t looked into it closely, but perhaps using NAT to connect a VM to the network may hide you pretty well.
Nope. Your VM will still have to ultimately go out the MAC of the physical hardware.
Of course, there are plenty of tools to allow you to spoof MAC addresses all day long. Hell, on my linux boxes, I can specify my MAC on my wireless card by entering an iwconfig command.
The only people this kind of thing will nail will be the lazy, and your average Joe.
BTW, I mentioned OpenID in an earlier post. It would appear that if you have logins to any of the following, then you already have an OpenID account ... Google, Yahoo, LiveJournal, Hyves, Blogger, Flickr, Orange, Mixi, myspace, Wordpress, AOL, chi.mp, claimID, myid.net, myopenid, versign labs, .yiid.
Sounds dangerous to me.
