John Wheeler walked into a Wilmington, Delaware sandwich shop less than 24 hours before he was killed and had super bloodshot eyes, according to the person who sold him coffee. The clerk, who did not want to be identified, says he thought Wheeler was homeless and that clearly something was wrong.
"His eyes were the most bloodshot I have ever seen, he told Fox News, saying that it appeared he had been wearing the same clothes for a long time, because the cuffs on his white shirt were filthy. But the clerk said when Wheeler started to talk, he appeared to interact normally and was mentally aware, ordering a cup of coffee. He told us he did not appear to be confused and disoriented as others have said, and that he sold him coffee at about 8 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, December 30th....

Some husbands fall apart within days of being on their own. I've seen it happen.
I haven’t heard anything about his cell phone. Was it on his body? Are they track it? GEEZ, all the tactics of “Criminal Minds” are coming to mind.
According to CM, the BAU can profile the victim to find the killers.
If he was hurt, a simple double dose of muscle relaxers is enough to make you look "out of it"...
Where's his briefcase? Where's his cell phone? Where are his keys to the house, the car, to where he was staying??
I'm betting the guy took a bullet in the end...
I'm also inclined to think his wife put out a hit on him. She never reported him missing?? She didn't even try to call in 72 hours??
Good stuff, S. We know this for sure, he was walking around holding on to his left shoe. As you’ve said, there is something about that shoe.
It’s been reported he was asked if he needed money and he turned it down, claiming he had plenty of money. He was found with his wallet.
He probably could have bought a pair of shoes any time he wanted.
I thought she was far away traveling, and had NO idea that he was missing?
But my instinct still points to the wife who didn't report him missing after 72 hours...
I rule out 6,7, and 8. IIRC, he was in a dumpster picked up in Newark, but he was wandering aroung in Wilmington, 10+ miles away.
Bloodshot eyes....Strangulation....No tie?? Maybe....Did he pretend to be dead??
I find it so strange, the news media keeps bringing up his court battle with his neighbors and the incendiary devices (rodent bombs, you can get at Home Depot) which is silly to me. A guy with his backround is going to all of a sudden go bonkers and intimidate someone with rodent bombs???
He was lucid enough to tell the first parking attendant that he was NOT drunk so he knew he was acting strange.
Now this report says he spoke fine when in the coffee shop.
The dumpster he ended up in was miles away from where the witness saw him. So how did an impaired man get into a dumpster miles away?
It is right out of a spy novel.
He had been a former Secretary of the SEC.
The brief case was stolen according to the first witness.
I don’t find it odd that he didn’t talk to his wife. They had 3 residences, he lived in DC, she in NYC and they shared the DE house. Being older and involved in high demand careers, I wouldn’t be shocked if they didn’t talk every day.
BTW, since Sacajaweau took #5, I’ll take #3. The neigbor was mobbed up and got tired of Wheeler and the property/construction court fight. :o)
Yep, has all the sceneruios of a Fredrick Forsyth novel.
They are searching for an easy explanation and there is none. failure to recognize all the signs of foul play.
I know, it is right out of a Tom Clancy novel! He worked under Reagan, and both Bush’s, the SEC and the AF, now a DOD contractor.
I am no pharmacist, but I would imagine there are drugs which could cause almost anything. Because of where he was found, I do not think his death was from natural causes. They don’t give us any idea any recognizable cause of death so far, so anything is pure speculation. However, with all the mystery deaths in the scientific field. it does tend to suspect an anti-American to me.
Why didn't he call his wife if he was in trouble??? Because he had a hunch??
100 people must have seen this guy in those couple days and I don't think he's a stranger to the areas.
Nope it was a hit...the wife...Bet she's got a boyfriend....
Rodent bombs...some reporters are just idiots...
***he was wandering aroung in Wilmington, 10+ miles away***.
Addendum:
a) mugged, pulled into a vehicle and removed to the dumpster.
b) got a ride with someone and in his confused state, demanded to be let out of the vehicle in Newark (becoming further disoriented).
(I sense that; (even in a vulnerable condition) this man was unused to asking for help and persisted in the belief he could handle any crisis).
Hmm...didn't know that. Their is something very strange about the whole thing.
Yeah but she has nothing to gain, no kids are involved, she is the head of an international textile firm, they’ve only been married 3 yrs. so why would she not just leave him? It is 2nd marriages for both.
