Good shooting citizen! Civilization thanks you! Now get some more range time and buy a .45 ACP!
This story isn't nearly as a good ending as 2003 when a star-football player in Central Arkansas robbed "Bubba's bait, bullets, and beer".
Ole Bubba plugged the kid as he walked in to rob the place. DRT with a .45 ACP hole in his chest.

I concur on the “good shooting” but what is a .45 ACP?

.357 Mag. Close range.
Nice shooting, sir !

Actually the .357 has a better 'one shot stop' rating than the venerable .45. I'll chalk this one up to shot placement.
And I'll not fault the store owner in the least. He did well under very stressful circumstances.

A .45 ACP is a .45 caliber Automatic Colt Pistol. OFten it is a 1911 model, like those issued to soldiers for many decades.

Make sure to use hydra-shock or corbon or some other hollow-point next time.

I used to own a .357. Haven’t owned a gun for awhile. I’m about to buy another. I was thinking of a .357. Obviously you recommend a .45 ACP. It’s been awhile and I forget the arguments pro and con between those two weapons. And in my life, there’s a new wrinkle. Now I’m married. Before I wasn’t. So I’m buying this gun for 2 people, not just one. Any thoughts?

Get a Glock model 22 semi-auto pistol in .40 S&W.
If your wife has small hands or dislikes the big bang, step down to the 9 MM.

Nice choice! My Python could use a stable-mate.

The firearm above your last post is one of the finest home defense/personal defense weapons ever made. I love wheel guns, and I can use both .38 spl and .357 mag.
I also can use the ammo in my lever action rifle.
Try out whatever gun fits you, and you can consistantly and accurately shoot (and the Ms.).
My wife has a Model 640, but uses .38SPL from Gold dot as her carry ammo. She also has a Glock 10mm for her "heavy days".

Please look carefully at picture above. Look at suspects feet. Notice his pants and underwear around his ankles. Note blood in underwear. Notice suspects face? Looks like cockshot to me... .Tough guys never think about their d!ck getting blown off by a 357 before they walk in. Oh well, took care of the pro creation problem.

Police were called to Joe's Grocery Store at 12223 Colonel Glenn Road just before 10 a.m.
Called a little too soon IMHO.
