UFC Fighter Jacob Volkmann Calls Out President Barack Obama, Gets A Visit From the Secret Service (UPDATED) Posted on January 5, 2011 by Damon Martin
Jacob Volkmann
UFC lightweight Jacob Volkmann, following his win over Antonio McKee, declared that he wanted to fight U.S. President Barack Obama for his next bout. His words got him a visit from the Secret Service on Tuesday.
Volkmann, who is based out of Minnesota, told MMAFighting.com after his win over McKee that he wanted to face Obama because he disagreed with many of his policies.
Well, if anyone ever wondered if a potential threat against the President goes unnoticed, you just got your answer.
It happened on Tuesday, I was coaching youth practice, and then two guys came up and one of the other coaches that was helping me out, they said there was a cop and another guy out there waiting for me, Volkmann told MMAWeekly.com. I went out there and the guy introduced himself and said he was from the Secret Service and he wanted to ask me some questions about UFC 125 and my quote. He said there were people calling in to D.C. telling them that somebody, me, was threatening the President.
The interview was a formal process due to any potential threat made against the President, but it should be the close of the matter for Volkmann. The reason for the investigation wasnt because of the original interview after his fight, but because someone alerted the authorities about a threat that was made.
This guy had the whole interview on a piece of paper and it had my picture and everything, said Volkmann. He was like is this what you said? and I said, yes it is. Hes like I want to let you know Im a little embarrassed for coming here and doing this because obviously nothing happened. He actually apologized for coming, but he had to come. He wanted to make sure I wasnt going to D.C to hurt the President.
The thing is, I got home and I checked my e-mail and I had about 20 e-mails and one of them, one of ladies had actually contacted the FBI and the Secret Service, and she was telling me that she was going to do it.
The person who contacted Volkmann, according to the fighter, was a member of the election committee that worked for President Obamas campaign.
Volkmann was successful in his fight at UFC 125, and also mentioned a possible future fight against Clay Guida. It appears that one is much more likely than the Obama confrontation.
The Minnesota based fighter, who is also a chiropractor, wanted to clarify the statements he made in the original interview as well, because he says that was the reason most people seemed upset with him in the first place.
People were misunderstanding the point of view I was going for with the health care plan. Thats why they were getting so upset. Im thinking about the provider, Im a chiropractor, so Im thinking about my point of view, not everyone getting insurance. They dont have to worry about getting denied, which is good I guess, just not good for health care providers, said Volkmann.
Still happy he spoke his mind, Volkmann says the Secret Service considers the matter closed at this point.
is this a “free country” or what???
the obamanation regime is quickly and quietly trying to institute marxism in every sector....
only we, as American citizens, can stop them.
we r not free.
I wish the secret service (aka the brown shirts) were deployed to the mexican border. They would be able to pick up a lot of people breaking the law and sneaking into America.... that is, if they care about such. Otherwise, just continue being the lapdog of the obamanation regime!
I wonder if this is why Gunny Ermey also was out there yesterday apologizing to “The One”. Somebody might have made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

What a thin-skinned Sissy Mary. He couldn’t take 1% of the abuse President Bush, Governor Palin or President Reagan had to put up with.
He should have called out Putin. He could offer a real fight.
Certainly Presidents Dubya and Reagan distinguished themselves by serving honorably and with character in the face of non-stop criticism and media abuse. Both finished their terms with such amazing stamina and grace and courage under (verbal and written) fire.
We can learn much from their sense of purpose and inner strength.

Yes, this country was really free in the early 1940’s. We incarcerated an entire people, because of something that happened in Hawaii. People were torn out of their homes. They lost their homes, their businesses, and their chldren lost their schooling. The people in Hawaii, on the other hand did not incarcerate anyone except a few very specific Japanese. Eventually the US government made it possible for Japanese/Americans to serve in the European theater, which they did with great courage. This, if I remember correctly, while their parents were still in concentration camps. And if you feel inclined to flame me, consider I have a son in Special Forces who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and plans to do his 20.
So I take it, the President declined the offer for a match in the Octagon...
The Kenyan is showing the salvageable morons that voted for him what a communist looks like, his one true public service, and something that he will continue to do until he and his family of freeloaders are thrown out of the White House on their asses in 2 years.
Should make it a lot harder for another one to sneak through, thanks Barry, have another snow cone and steal some more money from working folks.
Then there are the non salvageable morons, like this subhuman who made a very serious false accusation, knowing full well the ramifications.
Seems to me there should be consequences for such an act.

“Hey. skinny little girly-man...”
I get the message.... :)
well, my history books and my personal history reads very differently. I have been an American, from Americans, for several generations. I am proud of America, including the people who died in WWII fighting for her, and will support her COURAGE and INTEGRITY until it is a decision of whether I support my God OR my country. I hope that never comes.
Your memory is pretty good except that they weren’t “concentration camps” a la the Nazi or Russian/Communist style. The were officially “Relocation camps” and they did concentrate a specific group of people in them, but there were no firing squads, torture and gas chambers (where I lost my relatives), landmines, etc.
THe Japanese-Americans were unjustly taken from their homes and put into these camps because some in the govt (FDR, Earl Warren, etc. but NOT J. Edgar Hoover), thought they they were a Fifth Column. Only a handful of Japanese-Americans were arrested for supporting Japanese aggression, which was a tribute to the loyality of this group of people.
The WW2 unit was the 442nd, Italy, etc.
PS: My son was one of the first American soldiers to go into Iraq on 3/20/03. My father-in-law fought at Iwo Jima yet he bears no animose against the Japanese. My sister-in-law and her husband have taught in Japan for almost 20 years.
I hate the WW2 generation for their torture and murder of our POWS and those of our Allies and the Chinese/Philippino/Korean peoples back then. The newer generations are ashamed of what their grandparents did as they learn more and more about it.
It is a strange world we live in.
Welcome to the United Soviet Sates of Amerika.
I think you are going too far to call the Secret Service this name because they are actually pretty decent, patriotic people. They just have to do their job. I would guess that most of them are conservative and don’t like what we are seeing any more than we do here. That’s not to say that the marxists commies won’t try to corrupt them.
