I went into a Saks once, saw a pair of $200 jeans and a $50 t-shirt.

If you put them side-by-side with jeans and a t-shirt from the GAP you couldn’t tell them apart.

But if someone wants to piss away their money it’s their business.

that doesn't make any sense, we're on the verge of a hiring boom and the economic indicators are all "green lights".

I don’t see any “green lights”, I have had my hours cut to 32 per week. I guess I should be glad I’m still working, but the smaller paycheck will cause a dent in our budget.

They closed the one in Plano (Willow Bend Mall) last year... they gave notice and something like 7 days later it was shuttered.

Every time I went in that store there was no one there... no wonder, even in West Plano people are "smart" enough to not spend $250 for a button down shirt and $135 for a tie.

The place closed at 6:00 pm on Saturday nights ... don't know if they did that to save $s or if they had "private shopping" for their 5 customers.

I'm sure the employees at that Willow Bend store were given an option to work at the Galleria store (much bigger) ... about 12 mi. South.

Saks gets sacked?

Of course, the high end stuff goes first. Folks who patronized Saks, for example, may decide that in tough times Macy’s is good enough ...

Maybe Macy's needs to have a sale once in a while to drum up business.
