ABC News says U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann is considering running for president and will confer this month with GOP officials in Iowa about her prospects in that early caucus state.
Citing an unnamed "source close to the three-term congresswoman," the network said in a report Wednesday that Bachmann will hold "multiple meetings to seek advice from political forces there and party elders close to the caucus process before coming to a final decision regarding a potential presidential run."
Bachmann, a Republican who represents Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District, has roots in Iowa, having been born in Waterloo, Iowa.
Bachmann also is the headliner at an Iowans for Tax Relief PAC fundraiser Jan. 21 in Des Moines, ABC noted.
Her trip to Iowa will be her third in eight months. Last week, she attended a GOP fundraiser in Michigan.
Asked about Bachmann's presidential intentions, her chief of staff, Andy Parrish, told ABC News: "Nothing is off the table. The congresswoman is excited about her first trip to Iowa this year."

I will vote for Palin.
A Palin/Bachmann ticket would be wonderful.

If Sarah doesn’t run...Michelle is my first choice.

What a lovely, unexpected surprise! Michele would sure make it to the top of my short list. If both she and Palin declare their intentions to run, it’s going to pull the debate back to the far right, where it belongs. What a great development this would be for our country.

OH YES!!! And if she runs, I guess Sarah will not because Michelle Bachmann is exactly the conservative we need (if Sarah does not run..snif...) and then Sarah will fight/campaign for her - now that would be an interesting race with Bachmann and Sarah in the arena...I don't think anyone can survive those 2 women! Oh Yes!!!

I’m hoping Palin runs. Both of them on the ticket would be a delight. I can just imagine the reaction on the left.

From what I've seen of Bachmann, she'll get my vote!

Problem if they both run is that they will have to fight each other for the primaries...I am sure they will not like that. Of course the winner then can choose the other one as VP but I don’t know. I don’t want to see them fight each other for the primaries. Hmmm...tough thought.

Maybe. But, she is definitely the best of the bunch so far.
I like her. I would vote for her.

I don’t think Bachmann would consider it unless she had gotten the go ahead from Palin. Which means Palin will not throw her hat in the ring. When Palin said she would wait to see if her issues were being addressed, she may have been talking about a Bachmann candidacy. Best of both worlds for Palin; her issues are covered and she gets to keep the power she wields as a kingmaker.
To: Maelstorm
I’ll tell you another dream ticket: Bachmann/Herman Cain.

Sadly, yes, I think you are right. I dream of Sarah being our president but I also think that if Bachmann is running, she will have her perfect candidate and will fight for her. Sniff again though but I think she will probably be very happy to keep her way of life. Can't imagine Sarah stuck in the White House for months - without her freedom and her beloved Alaska and..all the hatred if she takes 2 days off in the year..I would not be happy for me even though I'd be full speed behind Bachmann but I surely be happy for Sarah and her family.

Sheeshhh will you stop with Herman Cain!!! Nobody knows the guy besides the fact that he is a good talker and talks conservative. Do you have any proof that he is going to walk the walk??? This is getting ridiculous. Everybody was suddenly saying Brown for President and see how Brown is voting now. PLEASE stop being behind anybody who talks well. We need PROOF - we need a resume and Bachmann and Sarah have all that.

Yesterday, I came out in favor of Cain/Palin.
I may have to amend that, now. Any combination of Michelle with either Herman Cain or Sarah Palin would be one I could easily support.
