ABC News: Michele Bachmann Considering Presidential Bid

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is considering running for the Republican nomination for president in 2012, ABC News reported Wednesday.

The third-term lawmaker, who formed the Tea Party Caucus last year, is making her third trip to Iowa in eight months. She will seek advice from local party leaders, as well as speak at a Jan. 21 fundraiser for Iowans for Tax Relief political action committee.

Should she run, Bachmann would join a field of candidates that could include four former governors — Mike Huckabee (Ark.), Sarah Palin (Alaska), Tim Pawlenty (Minn.) and Mitt Romney (Mass.) — as well as Sen. John Thune (S.D.), Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.) and former Speaker Newt Gingrich (Ga.), all of whom are rumored to be weighing bids.

"She is articulate, intelligent and can hold up her end of hostile media interviews, all qualities that Palin lacks. Plus she doesn’t have high negatives."

Yep.

"I like her, but don’t think she brings to the table what Jim Demint brings."

DeMint is one of my favorites, but I am not convinced that he will run. He appears to be set on leading the new shock troops in the Senate. Of course that may just be appearance.

Anyone who can’t carry their home state has no business running for national office.

Sorry, but true.

I have a feeling he doesn’t want to run, either. He’s such a good man. He should run.

Thanks for the ping! I would SO love for her to run. She really does have what it takes. She has stood up to nearly everyone who has opposed what is right and good.

However...I know you guys would miss her up in the Northland. :)

I’m counting on it! She’s the best and the most intelligent- sounding possible candidate that I’ve heard! She has convictions and stands by them! We need MORE of that!

Ya think she's that dumb and full of herself?

Yeah, I think she's good in the House...but President?

No.

WoooHooo!!!

Michelle is so incredibly articulate. So much more than Palin. Watch this and you’ll see what I mean (no notes, no memorization, no mistakes):

You really think Palin is articulate? Who are you fooling?

Watch this Bachman beautiful shred of the corrupt Obamathugs and you’ll see what I mean (no notes, no memorization, no mistakes):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thR-lVuztIY

Palin can NOT do this. I repeat: Palin can never perform like that.

Without notes, she speaks in pathetic run-on nonsensical sentences. It’ll be GWB all over again with an easy target for the libs to ridicule the President for “sounding dumb.” There are enough times when I’ve been disappointed in her for sounding plain dumb (yes, I know she’s not dumb, but...).

Likewise with McCain: Horribly inarticulate. In the debates, I felt like, “I could articulate an answer to that question 10 times more convincingly than McCain.

But Bachman is in a league of her own.
