A South African model who played Barack Obama's mother in a film about the U.S. President's early years in Indonesia has been arrested for drug possession.
Cara Lachelle has been charged with possession of methamphetamine following a raid on her Jakarta apartment.
Miss Lachelle, 27, starred as Obama's mother Ann Dunham in the film Obama The Menteng Kid, also known as Little Obama, co-directed by John Rantau and Damien Dematra.
The film, which was released last year, shows Mr Obama enjoying his early years with his mother and Indonesian stepfather in the Menteng neighbourhood of Jakarta from 1967 to 1971.
It portrays Mr Obama eating chicken satay and his neighbours and friends wear chequered sarongs and Muslim caps, although Mr Dematra admitted that the film was 60 per cent fact and 40 per cent fiction.
But police will claim in court there was nothing fictitious about the drugs they allegedly found in Miss Lachelle's home.

The only way to even put a dent in drug use is complete fascism, an army of government snitches and total surveillance of all citizens (like North Korea).
But then again, almost anyone can make their own highly illegal drugs in their own kitchen with a few select legal plants that grow almost anywhere. I'm sure it even happens in North Korea. Drugs are impossible to stop without total in-home surveillance and government control of all knowledge.
