Witnesses: (Former presidential advisor)John Wheeler Appeared Disoriented (before death)

Police in Delaware are slowly piecing together the details surrounding the death of former presidential advisor John P. "Jack" Wheeler III.

It now seems Wheeler spent at least two days wandering the streets of Wilmington disoriented.

Police say Wheeler traveled from Washington, D.C., where he worked, to Wilmington Tuesday on an AMTRAK train. He was last seen alive at 3:30 p.m. Thursday near the Hotel duPont parking garage at 10th and Orange streets.

Iman Goldsborough, the parking lot attendant, encountered a man she believes was Wheeler on Wednesday night near the intersection where he was last officially seen Thursday.

Goldsborough says the man came up to her looking for help finding his car, but he appeared disheveled and disoriented. He was without a coat and unable to find his car.

(According to police, Wheeler's car was parked in his monthly space at the DoubleTree Hotel's garage, closer to the train station.)

The man was wearing a suit and tie but was also only wearing one shoe and carrying the other. He said he wanted to get warm before paying for his ticket. Goldsborough said she thought the man seemed like he was suffering from dementia.

Kathleen Boyer, a security guard at the New Castle County Courthouse, said a man she now believes was Wheeler told her he was dropped off by his brother two days prior so he could visit his mother, in Wilmington. The man did not have any apparent injuries but did mention he was robbed of his briefcase. He was looking for a hotel and wanted to know where Front Street was.

Boyer, and two other employees, offered to help him and even offered him some money, which he declined.

Yes, Wheeler was so disoriented that he threw himself into a dumpster and died (we don’t yet know the cause of the death).

The garbage dumpsters the truck picked up were 15 miles away in Newark, DE. I don’t see how he could have walked there, do you?

On his show last night, Savage mentioned that the street/area where he was last witnessed is also near the DOJ building in Wilmington.

I was actually listening to that show in the car.

King street is the main bus route out of Wilmington. He could easily have taken a bus to Newark and crawled into a dumpster there, I suppose. But, that’s kind of a stretch.

His pharmacist in New Castle, where he lived, said he came in looking “a little different” and asked for a ride. The pharmacist offered to call him a cab. Instead, Wheeler left.

Forty minutes later, he was seen wandering around a Wilmington parking garage near the county courthouse, carrying one shoe and not wearing a coat. Parking attendants called a security guard, reporting a homeless man in the garage.

“He had dirt on his right leg. His eyes were red, like he was crying or something and he said he was robbed,” the security guard told the paper, adding that he was wearing a suit and did not smell of alcohol.

My DE buddy has this to report:

"Wow, I hadn't checked on the story yet today. Very interesting developments. I can't see him getting mugged and dumped like that, it's just too weird. How and why he ended up in Newark is obviously key.

So they have a cause of death, but they aren't releasing it yet? Crazy.

There are TONS of security and traffic cameras around that part of Wilmington. They've got to be able to find something from them you would think.

Interesting. People are saying he "knew too much" or was bumped off by neighbors he was feuding with. I kinda doubt those theories, but I guess anythings possible.

My dear old conservative, Christian, tea-totaling mother thinks he had a gay lover who kilt him!

That's awesome. Good ol' mom!"

I wonder if followup with street cams will happen. Where is Chloe from '24' when you need her...

He is probably like every other parking attendant I ever met: ... (doesn't see “people,” just sees ticket revenue)
Interesting - I occasionally voice my displeasure to my local grocery store manager that his floor employees (not cashiers) treat the customers as if they were invisible.

Are they sure he was killed? Maybe he was delirious and tried to do some dumpster diving and froze to death. This is weird.

Yes, that was my first thought as well. Wheeler may have simply passed out in the dumpster when along came the trash truck. Those automatic arms picked up the dumpster and dumped the contents into the truck, whereupon Wheeler got squashed and finally dumped in the landfill.

Please read the thread. The dumpster was in Newark. He was wandering the streets of Wilmington. Sheesh!

People do not work for the DOD for decades with top secret clearance without almost every move, association, conversation, vehicle movement, phone conversation, as well as their immediate relatives and neighbors, being observed and watched.

I think you give them far more credit than they deserve. Remember that John Walker guy who sold Russians every secret he could get his hands and did it for over 10 years. Or Aldrech Ames who got away with similar stuff inside the CIA for even longer. And then Hansen at the FBI. Those guys all held top secret + clearances and got away with spying for the Russians for years and years and none of them were very careful how they did it. They all lived well beyond their means.

but dimentia does not go undetected in the intelligence community.

Ever hear of rapid onset or 'sudden' dementia?

The KC-767s mentioned are part of the 'secret fleet' of 4 KC-767s used to refuel the RS-90 (AKA the Aurora) - the recce bird runs on super-cooled hydrogen rather than "liquid methane" as reported earlier. This requires special tankage and equipment to safely transfer the near liquid H2 to the aircraft in mid-air.

The new X-37B (see more here) and the recent successful testing will likely spell the end of the RS-90 program - for costs if nothing else.

As I write this, a second "X"-37 is under construction.

What that programs final designation will be is up in the air, no pun here of course, but I would suggest XL-6 (Exoatmospheric - Load-carrying) and 5th of the series, with the ill-fated USAF (X-20A) Dyna-soar from 1963 as the XL-1.

The Prime, Asset, X-23, and X-24 programs would then be the XL-2 theu -5 respectfully. The old Dyna-MOWS (Manned Orbital Weapons System) falls outside of the space-recce meme.

And everyone is getting excited about a **possible** new Chinese J-20 fighter....... pshaw.
